Professor Nira Wickramasinghe explains the role of colonialism in the country's past century of history in the first of a special TRNN two-part series on Sri Lanka.

Dr. Nira Wickramasinghe is a professor of Modern South Asian Studies at Leiden University. She is the author of several books, including Sri Lanka in the Modern Age. A History, and Ethnic politics in colonial Sri Lanka, 1927–1947.
