as posted by the channelRegistered nurses at Ascension St. Agnes Hospital held a one-day strike from July 24, 7AM to July 25, 6:59AM, "to protest Ascension management’s refusal to address their urgent concerns about patient care, safe staffing, and high staff turnover in contract negotiations."
"St. Agnes nurses are tired of the treatment we've been getting," RN Robin Buckner told TRNN. "We've tried bargaining for 18 months. That didn't seem to get us anywhere. So now the only recourse we have is to strike."
"We are chronically understaffed, chronically overworked," RN Nicki Horvat said. "Ascension itself is a multi-billion dollar corporation. They have the resources to address these issues, to make this place safer for patients and for nurses, and they are actively choosing not to."
