"The biggest difference between the candidates and the parties right now is that on the state and local level, where education is done, we now have a dozen states over the last two years that have made 'backpack funding' available. Basically allowing public dollars to chase the student, follow the student into private institutions, including religious institutions. That is a absolute revolution in the way that we do education in this country. We might have already passed the peak raw number of students in the publicly managed K-12 system, which is insane," argues Matt Welch in the most recent episode of The Reason Roundtable.
