5:20Now PlayingLast week was huge for Mitch McConnell, as he managed to push through a handful of Trump’s judicial nominees who are now preparing to serve their lifetime appointments on courts across the country. One in four federal judges on district courts are now Trump appointees, and the damage that they will cause will harm this country for generations to come. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

There are currently 275 bipartisan pieces of legislation on everything from environmental protection to gun control sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk in the Senate, 275 passed by the house waiting for McConnell to do something so that the president can sign them into law and Mitch McConnell has absolutely no desire whatsoever to pass even one of those bills that Congress has sent over to him. What Mitch McConnell has been doing though, because he's not just sitting around doing nothing, Mitch McConnell has been exceptionally busy these last few months. Unfortunately it's not busy passing legislation. It's being busy packing the courts of the United States. Last week alone, Mitch McConnell pushed through at least four Donald Trump appointees approved them and they are now headed to their lifetime appointment on the federal bench. One of them, much like several other in the past was rated as not qualified by the American bar association, so yet another Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump handpicked right wing extremist judge rated not qualified to be a judge, but that person's going to be sitting on that bench for the rest of their life unless of course they committed an impeachable offense, but that's very rare for a judge. Here's the thing, 20 to 25% of now all of the judges sitting on district courts here in the United States were appointed by Donald Trump. Anywhere between one fifth to one quarter. We're kind of in between those two appointed by Donald Trump. They want to have close to 190 new judges appointed before the end of the year. That's throughout the calendar year, last January all the way to December 31st. 190 they want to get to that number and they believe it or not, folks, they're almost there. They're almost there. These judges will continue to destroy this country for generations and not just on the big issues, not just on things like civil rights, women's rights, gerrymandering, but everything in between as well. Your right to take a company to court when they've put out a product that gave you cancer. These judges are the ones who take that away from you. When you finally do make it to court, to take on the massive corporation that put out a pill that costs you half your limbs, these are the judges that are going to say, you know what? I don't think this is worthy. I'm going to go with the corporation on this one. Thanks for your time. Sorry your body's crap now and I'm not making this up. These are things that happen. But Mitch McConnell is the guy who's making it happen right now. Now I remember Pete Buttigieg first came on the scene, you know, nobody knew anything about him. This guy from, uh, Indiana says I'm running for mayor. And one of the first things he said and one of his first interviews or speeches, I don't even remember what it was, but it was Democrats need to focus more on the lower courts. They've ignored the lower courts and focus too much on the Supreme court and at that point I thought, Oh my God, this may be the guy. Trust me, I no longer think that about mayor Pete, but he was right about that. Democrats focused too much on the Supreme court and they've ignored all these lower courts, these lower courts and Obama left office with over 100 vacancies in the lower court. He could have filled every single one of them with a recess appointment. He didn't have to go through Congress or the Senate, excuse me for those recess appoint every single one of
