3:53Now PlayingInvestigative journalist Ken Klippenstein has a reputation for taking down some of the biggest names on Twitter, and this past weekend he managed to add another name to his list: Dr. Naomi Wolf. Wolf is known as an anti-vaxxer, and Klippenstein was able to trick her into posting a fake quote from a "doctor" to help prove her points. But it turns out the quote was made up, and the image attributed to the "doctor" was actually an adult film star. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Investigative journalists Ken Klippenstein is not only known for the phenomenal work that he has done for outlets like the nation and the intercept where he currently writes. Uh, and of course, I think back in the day at TYT, uh, Klippenstein is also known for taking down some of the biggest names on Twitter and showing people, exposing them for the fools that they are. And of course he did it again over the past few days, uh, with Dr. Naomi Wolf, uh, who in recent years has become a prominent anti-vaxxer. And so Klippenstein sends her a quote from a doctor Dr. John Simms and Dr. John Simms said, quote, if a vaccine is effective, then why do we need to pressure people to take it? He sends that to Naomi Wolf, Dr. Wolf, as a direct message, Dr. Wolf tweets it out with the Dr. John Sims picture there. Um, and her tweets has Dr. John Sims colon. And then it has the picture with the quote on it. And, uh, it didn't take long for the rest of the internet to realize that, wait a minute, that's actually Johnny sin
And adult film star.
And he also never said those things. And of course, he's definitely not a doctor. So Klippenstein, once again, managed to fool, uh, an individual of prominence on social media, making them look like a complete and total idiot,
But he did more than
That, right? This isn't just a game of gotcha. I love the way Klippenstein does this because it's never just like, Hey, I showed what an idiot you are. What he did was expose the level of vetting research that these anti-vaxxers actually do.
All he did
Was take a picture, a screenshot of this adult film score, a star, slap this quote on there, sent her a flattering message and said, you should share this. And she did it without questioning without looking up without even knowing who Dr. Johnny SIM
It was, I mean,
Seconds of research, there could have saved her. This humiliation, the tweet has been erased, but her comments about, you know, anti-vax and the efficacy and safety of the COVID vaccine have not
Ben, I've taken it
A lot of, uh, crap from some anti-vaxxers over the years. Some a very prominent anti-vax or some rather close to us used to be, um, haven't been happy that I've called out the anti-vaxxers. And in fact, compared them to climate change deniers, cause you look at these mountains and piles of scientific evidence that says your wrong, and you still look at those and you say, no, not going to do it. I don't believe it. Nope. That's wrong. That's wrong. Not me. That's the same thing. The climate change deniers do. And yeah, you all do about the same amount of research that Dr. Naomi Wolf did tweeting that little meme where she got fooled by Ken Klippenstein, uh, Clevenstine is national treasure. By the way, I love his work. I love what he does. And more importantly, that guy on Twitter has the best possible Twitter game out there. Keep exposing them, keep showing us who they truly are, and don't ever be afraid of, of, of retaliation from these individuals, because these are all bunch of blowhards. That's the other thing we have to realize too, a lot of these people in these positions of power, a lot of these people who get dunked on, on social media, they're just blowhards and every now and then it's nice to bring them back down to reality with the rest of us.
