Joe Rogan Walks Back Vaccine Comments After Massive Backlash

Spotify podcast host Joe Rogan decided to walk back his comments about healthy people getting the COVID vaccine this week after massive public backlash about his comments. Rogan admitted that his words were rather careless, but also that he's not a doctor and people shouldn't be taking medical advice from him anyway. He's absolutely right, but also needs to realize that we live in a society of celebrity worship and far too many people will do whatever a famous person tells them to do. Earlier this week, a podcast hosts, Joe Rogan created a bit of controversy when he suggested, or actually outright said it wasn't suggested. He said that healthy young people should not get vaccinated. A very careless statement, uh, by Joe Rogan there and massive public backlash followed people on social media, going after him saying this is incredibly idiotic comment. And so Joe Rogan, after a couple of days, finally did come back out and, uh, attempted to walk back his comments a little bit, and also to downplay his authority on the matter, because hell even the white house, even Fowchee came out and denounced Joe Rogan's comments. So it was a big deal. But anyway, Rogan comes out yesterday. He says, I'm not a doctor. I'm an effing moron. I, and I'm a cage fighting commentator. I'm not a respected source of information even for me, but I at least try to be honest about what I'm saying.

If he, I mean, yes, you're not a doctor, you're a cage by commentator insure people. Shouldn't be looking to you. And I'm not saying this in an insulting way. People shouldn't be looking to anybody other than medical professionals for medical advice. It's stupid that we live in a society where this happens, but that's the other part of it. And I think that's the part that Joe Rogan has to understand. And I think he does. He's just downplaying it. Sure. You're not a doctor. Sure. People shouldn't look for you, look to you for information, but you know that they do. And therefore you do have a responsibility. It is on you. At that

The sad fact of reality here in the United States, we have celebrity worship culture, and that's what drives people to listen to medical advice from nonmedical people like Joe Rogan or Gweneth Paltrow or Jenny McCarthy, or any of the other people out there pushing pseudo scientific ideas that are not based in reality. Are not some kind of higher authority on medicine, on morality, on the law on Emmy thing. So if you have issues, if you have medical issues, don't go listen to a podcast or try to find out what to do. Go talk to a doctor. If you need spiritual advice, don't listen to a podcaster, talk to a spiritual advisor, help talk to your friends. We have to stop looking to celebrities as if they somehow have all the answers just because they're on TV or in the movies. That's ridiculous. But unfortunately there's far too many people in this country that do that. And Joe Rogan understands that what he did was irresponsible. What he did was basically against the advice of the medical community. So hopefully people moving forward.
