Things in Arizona, continue to get stupider by the day and the latest revelation following the announcement late last week that they were looking for bamboo fibers on the ballots that they swear were imported from somewhere over in Asia. The latest outrage came when cyber ninjas, the company doing this ballot audit of the more than 2 million ballots from America County at a cost of $150,000 to the Arizona taxpayers. They said that they need passwords to, uh, County computers, to County routers. Basically they need access to the entire digital infrastructure, including the entire voting database for all of Maricopa County. So if you could just hand over those passwords and let us get into your system here, that'd be great.
No, no, no. That's folks. This group cyber ninjas wants access to the personal data of more than 2 million Arizona residents of Maricopa County. Why, how is that relevant to them? Auditing the ballots to make sure the ballots are cool. And by cool, I mean, correct, you don't need the computer data. You don't need access to somebody's entire voting history, which they would have access to. If they got this information, social security numbers, addresses, work history, all kinds of things that could then be used and sold, you know, legally or illegally to marketers, to other major corporations. There is a huge market across the planet for the private data of individuals and not all of it is obviously, you know, black market type, you know, stealing social security numbers, but just your name, age address and voting history is very valuable to corporations throughout the country.
And this group, cyber ninjas, that's never done a ballot audit in their life. Things. They need all of that, just to make sure that these ballots are correct. You have the voting rolls and you have the ballots. That is all you need. Do the two match up. Yes, they do. Okay. That's good. Let's go. Next one. Boom. That's all you have to do, but I'm starting to get the feeling that that's not what this is about anymore. At all. We know that this ballot audit is not going to yield any results that are actually going to change anything with the 2020 election. That's not going to happen, but I'm starting to feel like cyber ninjas might be trying to do a little side hustle here, get their hands on all this personal data and then sell it to corporations for a massive profit. Why else would they need access to this? It makes no sense. It's not relevant to what they're doing. They have the voting rules, they have what they need. And I'm terrified that Republicans, the Republicans that control the Arizona legislature are going to let these individuals have access to it. That is going to be a massive privacy breach for these residents in Maricopa County. It is absolutely going to destroy the public's trust in both cyber ninjas and the Republican controlled government. And at worst, it puts all of their personal data at risk to this shady company that doesn't even
