A new report shows that the conservative social media outlet Parler had actually alerted the FBI to the threat of violence from their users ahead of the Capitol Riot. In fact, the outlet had actually sent at least 50 different alerts to the agency about their users. For all of the heat that Parler has taken, they actually did the right thing, the FBI just failed to do their jobs in this situation. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Conservatives have spent a lot of time attacking the FBI in recent days, basically saying that the Capitol insurrection of course, was the FBI's fault because they ignored all of the warnings. And what's interesting is that a lot of us had also been saying that. Not that it was the FBI's fault, but we were wondering why the FBI just sat on information and did nothing about it, pretty much as soon as the insurrection took place. Now, here's the thing. We got new information this week, showing that Parler, the conservative social media company had sent more than 50 warnings to the FBI about their users planning violence on January 6th in the Capitol. So even the higher ups at Parler did a better job than the people at the FBI. I'm not going to lie about that. That really is what happened here.

And you know what I know Parler is a conservative social media site, but good on you for recognizing a threat, recognizing danger and reporting it. That's what you're supposed to do and that is what we need. And I've talked about that in videos, you know, a lot, we can't have the FBI just going out there doing these broad sweeps of everybody's information. We need a reporting system. And unfortunately that's where the FBI falls short, because if you did, in fact, have Parler sending at least 50 warnings, if you had other people reporting what they were seeing on 4chan and Reddit and Facebook and all these other sites and the FBI did virtually nothing about it, then that is the failure of the FBI.

Now that doesn't change the fact that Donald Trump is still the one who got these people riled up, who did essentially instigate this entire thing with his rhetoric to these very gullible and manipulable people. But the FBI did certainly have plenty of failures. There are failures that need to be investigated, failures that need to be corrected and we need a heck of a lot of answers for them. Now, as I've also talked about in the past, there were a couple individuals who were arrested by federal authorities when they arrived in Washington DC, a day or two before the January 6th insurrection. So a couple people, you know, did get pre arrested because of what they had said on social media or because they had outstanding warrants against them. But we could've stopped this. That's the point. We knew that this was coming.

Now again, I'm not saying this in any way to excuse any of the actions of any of the conservatives or Republicans or lawmakers or activists, whatever they want to call themselves, to excuse any of their actions. They, to me are still culpable and should be held legally, legally liable for this. You know, that includes people like Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. Ali Alexander, I believe his role in setting up that entire stop the steal rally that morning, That could be something that maybe he should be investigated for to see if there's any legal liability against him with this. But you also can't deny the fact that the FBI totally screwed the pooch on this one. Absolutely, uncontrovertibly screwed up. They had the warnings, they knew who the people were. They knew what they wanted to do and by God they just didn't take action.
