Trump Is Just A Televangelist Conning His Gullible Followers

Donald Trump is frequently referred to as little more than a reality show personality, doing whatever he can to get ratings. And while that's not inaccurate, and even more appropriate comparison would be to say that he is a televangelist trying to dupe his flock. In many instances, much like a televangelist, he knows that what he is saying isn't true, but he also knows that the more he lies the more he can get them to open up their wallets. Over the last few years, there've been lots of different metaphors used to describe what Donald Trump really is. You know, he's been described as the reality TV star that'll do anything for ratings and, you know, that's true because he was a reality TV star that would do anything for ratings. He's been called a carnival barker, you know, PT Barnum, essentially, going out there and getting people riled up and in a frenzy just so they would pay him more attention. But I think one of the best descriptions I've seen of Donald Trump over the last five years happened very recently when he was described as nothing more than a televangelist, a disgraced televangelist, actually compared to Peter Popoff who is a disgrace televangelists. I'm not sure if many people remember, but either way the, the televangelist angle, I think probably is the most accurate description of Donald Trump. Think about this. Donald Trump goes out there and during his campaign and his presidency he was out there nonstop doing his rallies.

Giving his little speeches, riling up his base, telling them that you can have a better life, much like a televangelist does. We can have these great things. All you got to do is support me, put your faith in me. You got to give me money too and then it will all spread around. Everything will be great. Everything will be okay. But you have to trust me to make it happen. And if you turn your back on me, things are going to be bad. Doesn't that sound a lot like a televangelist? You know, these, these idiot preachers that we see go on TV. They get the congregation all in a fury. They get people shouting hallelujah. They get people who don't have much to begin with opening up their wallets and purses, throwing money at these individuals who then spend it on private jets, fancy cars, big mansions, but they tell their flock, hey, you can have all this too, eventually. You just have to believe. And if it doesn't happen for you, it's because you didn't have enough faith.

That is the same message that Donald Trump tells his followers. It's all a big con, but that's what he's been doing for years. He goes out there and he gets these individuals to show up at his rallies and trust me, he's not getting stockbrokers. He's not getting doctors and lawyers for the most part showing up in huge numbers at his rallies. These are average everyday working class Americans. Many of them who don't have enough money to even pay their bills, but they fork money over to his campaign because he's promising them something better and in the meantime, he's riding around on his private jet, sitting on his golden toilet, living a life that most of us can't even imagine. All while telling them all of their problems are because of something else, someone else, some other party, much like a televangelist. All your problems are because you don't have enough faith. If you believe in me, if you believe in God enough, good things will happen to you like they happened to me. And if they don't, obviously you're not good enough.

And with Trump, it's obviously you're not giving enough money to the campaign. Obviously you're not advocating hard enough for Donald Trump. The man truly is a disgraced televangelist and his followers are more than happy to be a part of that cult and that's one of the worst parts of this. They don't understand that they're being duped.
