Fox Is Requiring ‘Vaccine Passports’ While Their Hosts Attack That Idea On Air

The Fox Corporation, which includes the offices of Fox News, is allowing employees to "self report" whether they have been vaccinated or not, and the employees that have been vaccinated are allowed to enjoy somewhat relaxed protocols in the buildings. This is actually a very responsible thing for the network to do, and many other businesses have been operating in the same way. What sets Fox apart, however, is that they attack this very idea on the air in order to drum up fear and sow division. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Plenty of odd things have been happening at Fox news this past week. We've had Steve Doocy and Sean Hannity actually encouraging people to get vaccinated. We've had Brian Kilmeade tell people, hey, if you want to die from COVID, that's totally your choice. But one of the stranger things was actually a report from CNN based on internal Fox corporation emails that shows that Fox actually has what you could call a vaccine passport policy. And the policy, believe it or not is actually similar, similar, excuse me, to what a lot of companies and corporations here in the United States are doing. The policy is simple. It's telling employees, hey, self-report that you've been vaccinated. Tell us what kind of vaccine you got, when you got it, you know, they're basically trying to make sure you're not lying about it by asking all these questions, or you can of course submit your vaccine card. And if you do that, you don't have to go through some of the daily health screenings that unvaccinated employees do. Essentially you get a little more freedom with your health.

You know, some companies, not Fox, according to the emails, at least that we know of, but some companies are actually telling people, hey, if you've been vaccinated, you don't have to wear a mask, unvaccinated you do have to wear a mask. It's a health issue for the office. You have to take care of not just yourself, but everybody else. So here's why this is a little odd, right? Fox news for months now has run countless segments, attacking so-called vaccine passports. That's none of your business, whether we get vaccinated or not, Fox news hosts have been telling people across the country. Don't submit. Don't let them know. Keep it to yourself. Don't let these States pass these passports where you can't go into certain businesses or certain things can operate like the cruise line industry, no, fight back. And now we find out that they've been working for a company that's actually, actually successfully implemented a version of a vaccine passport. To be honest, I have no problem with Fox news whatsoever implementing this policy. I think it's a good policy. I think it's a smart policy. And I do believe that it encourages more people to get vaccinated.

As an aside, it also lets you know, which ones are your coworkers are, uh, anti-vaxxers. So, you know, that's always a little eye-opening, isn't it? I know that's really neither here nor there, but let's be honest. I'm sure some of us have been kind of shocked to walk around our offices, workspaces, hell, maybe even family gatherings to find out which people are, you know, denying science at this point. But the most important thing, and apparently the people of the Fox corporation understand this, is that you have to take care of each other. When you're working in close quarters, when you have a lot of people crammed into a big ol' building, you have to take care of each other. That's what the vaccines are about. That's what the masks are about. It's not about obedience. It's not about control. It's not about submission. It's about making sure that we're not out there killing our coworkers and friends when we really have the means to help prevent it. Fox is doing it. Their hosts might still be attacking it on air, but they're abiding by the same policies as everybody else.
