There is no doubt that Trump's rally helped spread the virus, though it is impossible right now to tell whether or not it played a role in the school infections. The city of Cullman, Alabama, the site of Donald Trump's political rally last weekend, announced on Thursday that they were shutting down five schools in the Cullman school district, in Cullman county, because there were so many COVID cases it was no longer safe for students to go to school. I believe it was one third of students between these five schools, a third of them tested positive for COVID. Here's the thing. Donald Trump came to Cullman last Saturday, knowing that just days before he came there to do his rally, the city had already declared a state of emergency because of how bad COVID was there. it's a city with the 28% vaccination rate. Okay. Only 28% of the population there is actually vaccinated. Trump comes in anyway, brings people from not just all over the state of Alabama, but other states as well, 50,000 if the estimates from the Alabama Republican party are to be believed, which for the record, technically is the largest political rally ever held in the state of Alabama.

And it was held in a city that was already struggling to get by because of the number of people with COVID. But Trump wasn't about to let it go. Wasn't about to tell people to wear masks, hell, he told them they should get vaccinated and they booed him, they booed him. And now they're shutting down schools for two weeks having to go to remote learning, which is what they should be doing full time and there is no question that his rally helped spread COVID. Now here's the thing. Let's be totally clear here. There is no evidence yet, and it's probably maybe a little too soon to say that these schools, these kids got COVID from their parents who attended the Trump rally. All right. That's probably a bit of a stretch. But what that means is that the new COVID cases that are going to emerge because of Donald Trump's rally, haven't emerged yet, most of them. So as bad as things are in that city right now, they're about to get a hell of a lot worse, probably within the next few days. We're going to start seeing the numbers spike even higher because of that 50,000 person, largely unmasked rally that Trump had there last Saturday.

Here's a kicker. We've known for quite a while that these Trump rallies are super spreader events. According to reports, they did analysis actually last year of the few rallies that Trump had as the election neared, you know, did some contact tracing and here's what they determined. Researchers concluded that 18 of his rallies last year led to more than 30,000 COVID-19 cases and 700 Deaths. That's what they've linked to 18 different Trump rallies last year, 700 deaths, 700. Is it worth it? Is it worth your life? Is it worth the life of your spouse or your child or your mother or father, sister, brother, whatever it is, is it worth their life to go watch Donald Trump rant and rave and lie to you for an hour and a half? Is it? Because that's what you need to consider if you go to one of these moronic rallies. The city of Cullman is suffering. And again, as we're going to see in coming days, as new cases emerge from the people who attended that rally, the suffering has probably only just begun.
