YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn what should come as a surprise to no one, counties that voted for Joe Biden in 2020 are seeing higher vaccination rates than those that voted for Trump. But more interestingly, these counties are also responsible for the economic recovery, putting out more than twice as much as the Red counties that Trump carried. Maybe there's a reason that the areas who understand that taking care of other people is a good thing are seeing more prosperity? Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

According to a new report by Bloomberg, it turns out that the counties that voted for Joe Biden are not just producing more for the United States in terms of GDP actually well over, well, double what red counties are producing, but they're also by I believe a 14 point margin, more vaccinated than the counties that voted for Trump. Let me read this. The 520 counties Biden won account for fully 71% of US gross domestic product. While the 2,564, that Trump carried produce just 29%. So Biden while he only won four, 520 counties, those 520 counties right now, right now, because this does fluctuate are producing 71% of the entire country's gross domestic product. Over 2,500 counties voted for Trump and they can't even produce 30%. And again, a large part of this is due to the fact here that you have a 47% vaccination rate in the red counties that Trump won versus a 61% vaccination rate in the counties that Biden won.
And the economist, the researchers who looked at this data before printing it said that they do believe there is a clear correlation between higher vaccination rates and an increase or decrease in GDP. Now for the record, these blue counties always, always, always, at least in modern times, have produced more GDP than the red counties. So this isn't, you know, a way of saying, listen, blue counties are better than red counties, okay, we're not getting into that whole makers versus takers argument. There's different things. Obviously blue counties are the ones that have things like Wall Street, right? They have major factories. Rural counties don't necessarily have as much of that. So yes, they're not producing as much. But the number, the gap is getting wider all throughout this year, according to this data, because researchers believe of the increased vaccination rate of blue counties. Because what this means is that people in the blue counties, people in the blue areas of the country are protecting themselves and not just themselves, they're protecting everybody around them by getting these vaccines.
And that is increasing their ability to work versus red states, not so much. More people getting sick, more sick days, more death. That absolutely has an effect on the economic output of an area. So that's what it is. We want to get this economy roaring again. We want to get back to where we were, which actually to be honest, still wasn't even a good place. We need an economy that actually works. That pays living wages. That takes care of workers. That guarantees them time off. That lets them be with newborn children. We right now actually have zero days of paid maternity leave guaranteed here in the United States. We need an economy that actually works. So I guess the better way to say it is if you want to get back to what we were, you have to get vaccinated. If you want people to actually get back to work, you have to get them vaccinated. It really is that simple and now we have the data to prove it.
