Hackers Take Down Texas GOP Website And Replace It With Planned Parenthood Fundraiser

Hackers claiming to be part of Anonymous managed to take control of the website of the Republican Party of Texas earlier this week, replacing webpages with Rick Rolls, pictures of Pokemon, and providing links to a Planned Parenthood fundraiser. The attack, referred to by the hackers as "Operation Jane," was motivated by Texas's recent assault on reproductive freedom, but Texas Republicans are already using the attack to raise money for themselves by crying victim. A group of hackers claiming to be with the hacking group Anonymous, managed to take down the website of the official Texas Republican party for at least a brief period this week, where they removed a lot of content and instead put up pages that had pictures of Pokemon. They put some Rick rolls in there, and of course they included links to fundraisers to help support planned parenthood. This hacking was called Operation Jane and was in response to Texas's ridiculous attack on women's reproductive health. And that's why they put up the links to planned parenthood. Now, the Texas GOP, they were able to put the website back together, regained control of it and, uh, they didn't put all the content back up. But what they did do was put out a call saying, oh my God, we were the victims of this horrible hack. Please send us money.

And they turned it around and used it as a fundraising opportunity for themselves. Republicans are under attack. Give us more money. Oh, look at what happened to us. We're so injured. Give us some money. These people are totally shameless. They don't even understand why this happened. Now, of course, I'm pretty sure I can't condone hacking because yeah. I mean, let's face it, hacking is not exactly legal. So I can't even say that this was a good thing. Even if I felt that it was a good thing. Right. But I am going to say that this was absolutely hilarious. And I can't say that I want to see more of this, of course. But putting up the links to a planned parenthood fundraiser, that really was the icing on the cake here. And people need to understand that this law in Texas, you know, this six week abortion ban and yes, believe it or not, you incels out there, it is difficult to determine whether or not you're pregnant within that six week window.

I know you don't know much about women or reproduction or anything about that, but no, no, no, no. It is totally 100% a possibility, a very real possibility and to be honest, quite a likelihood at this point. But either way, this is going to affect women around the country because it's not just going to stay in Texas. Florida's already toying around with the idea. You've got other states toying around with the idea now that they've seen Texas be successful with it. So we do have to go on the offensive, maybe not through hacking, but we do have to support organizations like planned parenthood. We do have to fight back against this law in Texas. We do have to support the lawsuits coming from the DOJ, challenging these kinds of things, because if it's allowed to stand in Texas, it's only a matter of time before it spreads across the entire country.
