Republicans in Pennsylvania have finally caved into pressure by Trump and his acolytes, and they are now trying to copy aspects of the Arizona ballot audit in their own state. They have started by requesting sensitive data about voters in the state because they claim they want to see if these people actually "exist." This is absurdity of the highest order, but this is the only play that the Republican Party has left and it isn't going away. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republicans in the Pennsylvania legislature voted this week to subpoena voting records from Pennsylvania residents because these Republicans think they've heard some, uh, you know, questions from people out there in Pennsylvania that maybe some of these voters from the 2020 election 10 months ago, maybe some of them don't actually exist. So, you know, that means we have to investigate every single person who cast a ballot and verify that they are in fact, a living, breathing, human being, living in the state of Pennsylvania. Here's what the subpoena says. Legislators are seeking troves of information about the 2020 election, the names and dates of birth, addresses and partial social security numbers of every registered voter in Pennsylvania as of November, 2020 from the state secretary of state, as well as communications between state and local election officials in every county. Ten months after the election, eight months after the electoral college had already voted and just now Republicans are saying, well, hold up now. Maybe some of these people weren't actually people.

Maybe we had tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of fake ballots show up and we just weren't paying enough attention back then. No, this is bull crap. This is absolute bull crap and do you know why it's happening? In June, three Republican legislators toured the facility where Arizona's shambolic, forensic audit was taking place. So in June, they go down to there to Arizona, three Republican legislators look at everything. They ooh and they ahh, and they say, oh wow, this is really great. Then they go back to Pennsylvania, huddle up with their other Republican legislators. Then a couple months later, boom, they've got their subpoena to do the same thing that Arizona is doing, except they want to do it on a much larger scale. And it's funny because they've admitted here it is, they said, you know, there have been questions regarding the validity of people who have voted, whether or not they exist. We're not responding to proven allegations. We're investigating the allegations to determine whether or not they're factual. So they're admitting like, yeah, we have no idea if any of this is true or not, but we're going to waste millions of dollars. We're going to waste countless hours of time to investigate conspiracy theories. To look into something that we know didn't happen, folks.

We know it didn't happen. But these Republicans are doing it to show that they're good and faithful little Republicans out there doing Donald Trump's bidding. Oh, for the love of God, they don't want to get censored by their state Republican party. And so they're continuing the farce, just like Arizona, just like Georgia, just like they're trying to do in Wisconsin. This is how Republicans operate now. This is the new normal. They're going to challenge every single thing that they don't win. And I guess we just have to live with it. Like there's nothing we can do about it. I honestly don't know if there is other than maybe vote these idiots out of office if you want to protect and preserve this, you know, democratic process that we still have.
