4:50Now PlayingOn the same day that Elon Musk increased his fortune by $16 BILLION, he took to Twitter to complain about a proposed wealth tax by Democrats that would fund social safety net programs for years to come. A separate report found that just 2% of Elon's worth would be enough to eradicate world hunger. But rather than using his fortune to secure a meaningful legacy, he's choosing to whine like a brat about taxes. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

On Monday, Monday one single day, one 24 hour period, Elon Musk made $36 billion because Tesla's stock value topped $1 trillion. So $36 billion in one day for one of the top three wealthiest individuals on planet earth. At the same time, another report came out saying that only two percent, spending 2% of his net worth Elon Musk could end world hunger, just 2%. You still would have 98% of all your stuff left. But you spend two of it, 2%, world hunger is gone. So what did Elon Musk do? Did he spend the 2% and end world hunger? Did he redistribute that 36 billion to his workers and protect them and give them bonuses and improve their lives? Nope. Elon Musk went on Twitter and bitched about taxes. He complained about a proposed wealth tax that the Biden administration is pushing that is basically being called a billionaire's tax because people worth over $1 billion would really be the ones paying this.
Not even just regular millionaires. Okay. You're going to pay a little bit more under this plan, but it's people making, you know, 750 million over a billion that have to pay the bulk of it because it is one of those, you know, graduated taxes there. So Elon Musk gets on Twitter responds to a just average person complaining about this tax plan, who I'm sure that person probably didn't even qualify for the tax plan and Elon says, eventually they run out of other people's money and then they come for you. Oh, because it was one of the little Elon Musk fan boys, which there's so many of on the internet for some reason and Musk chimed in like, oh, now they're coming for me, but soon they're going to come for you. That's why you can't raise taxes on wealthy people because they'll run out of my money and then they're coming for you. No, they're not folks.
I'm a go ahead and throw cold water on idiot Elon Musk talking point right now because no, they won't. Billionaires, millionaires here in the United States, United States, have had it too good for too long. They have been coddled by politicians because they pay off the politicians. They're the ones that can afford the lobbyists to go to Washington and convince these lawmakers that millionaires and billionaires need special treatment and that we shouldn't make them pay more in taxes even though what was it in 2018, I think it was, Elon Musk paid zero in taxes, zero. So if you paid your federal income tax for that year, you paid more in taxes than Elon Musk. But he's out there on Twitter, the day he made $36 billion, scaring poor people into thinking they're the ones who are going to get taxed more. I know Elon Musk doesn't, you know, proclaim to be left or right, but that is a hardcore right wing Republican talking point. And much like their trickle down theory.
It's total BS. It doesn't actually happen. But if you can scare enough poor people, scare enough working class people, into thinking that taxing billionaires is somehow going to raise their taxes then you win. And that is exactly what Elon Musk is doing here. Again, on the day when he made $36 billion. Tax this at 90%, because that's what he deserves. He's used every loophole in the book. He's done everything possible to avoid paying taxes. And at this point, the man is just hoarding wealth. It's time for him to pay. He wants to be in this country and be prosperous in this country. Fine. No problem with that..
