4:30Now PlayingDonald Trump is still playing the "Will he? Won't he?" game with a possible 2024 presidential run, and it is leaving wannabe Republicans with no way to move forward in that arena. And that is exactly what Trump has wanted all along. He gets to be the one to dictate the rules of the game, and anyone that would dare cross him will be met with his fury and vengeance. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump currently has the Republican party right where he wants it. And I'm not talking about with them bowing down to him and trying to do what he's telling them to do in the House and Senate, because that's not actually happening. What is happening, however, is that you have a lot of Republicans that clearly wanna run for president. Right? You've got Nikki Haley. You've got Ron DeSantis. You've got Ted Cruz who's been running for president ever since he stopped running for president in 2016. A lot of folks out there really want to hit that campaign trail and get things going. But they can't and they can't because of Donald Trump, because Donald is keeping hope alive in the Republican party that he may actually run again, these other Republicans are scared.
And they've been on the record like Nikki Haley saying if Trump runs, I'm not, if he doesn't we'll have that discussion when he announces that. But all of them are bowing down and acting like terrified little puppies in a thunderstorm of Donald Trump. Like, oh, I wanna run, but I, oh, I'm scared of what he's gonna do. What is he gonna do? The guy has no power. The guy has no social media. He can't even get on Twitter and yell at you. He can do interviews with some of the most obscure right wing shows out there every now and then getting on Fox. But other than that, like he can't hurt you guys. Okay. You don't need to look under your bed every night before you go to sleep to make sure Donald Trump's not hiding under there to terrorize you. That's not a thing. He has no power. If you wanna run for president by God, run for president, of course you do risk him off though.
But not that it matters. You know, Chris Christie of all people who has always been a bit of a bully himself so he knows how to handle a bully, has come out and he said, listen, if anybody tells you that they are waiting to see what somebody else is gonna do before they declared they're gonna run. That should be a red flag and you should never vote for that person. Because he shows, he says, it shows that they're either indecisive or exceptionally weak and he's right, because that's what that shows us about these Republicans. Doesn't matter if it's DeSantis or Cruz or Hawley or Haley or Pompeo, any of these other people whose names have been floating around. If you're waiting on somebody else to make a decision before you make your decision, you're a coward. If you wanna run, go ahead and run.
If you're afraid of Donald Trump off, then you are not strong enough to be the president of the United States anyway. If you're afraid of a man that has no actual real tangible power in this country today, then the hell are you gonna stand up to world leaders that actually do have power? You know, how you gonna square off against Kim Jong-un when you can't even handle an overweight elderly man from Mar-a-Lago? Yeah, I don't think you're gonna win that battle. But this is what Trump wants. Trump wants the attention on him. He wants the focus on him. He wants everybody talking about him. He wants to leave everybody in suspense, right? Is he, is he not? Oh, I don't know. Oh, we're getting closer. He is. Let's go ahead and put all the speculation to rest. Trump is running for president. So there you go, Republicans. You're gonna have to wait until 2028 because Donald Trump is very clearly enjoying this so much.
