Biden Definitely Gets One Thing Right About Today's Republican Party

During his press conference on Wednesday, President Biden still acted like Republicans would eventually work with him to get things done. He is completely wrong about that, but he did manage to say something about today's Republican Party that was painfully accurate - What do they stand for? The President openly asked if anyone could name what Republicans stand for or actually do, and that's a great point to drive home with voters. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

President Biden during his solo press conference this past Wednesday afternoon, in my opinion, did not do a very good job. A lot of what he said was just based in pure and total fantasy and of course, you know, when asked by Peter Doocy about, oh, you're pushing America too far left, and he said, no, I'm not. I'm not Bernie Sanders. So he takes a shot at Bernie Sanders instead of Manchin and Sinema who torpedoed his agenda later on that evening, in addition to doing it for the last few months. But, sure. So you take a dig at Bernie. He talks a little bit about how, you know, he's, he still thinks Republicans are gonna come around and, and help him out with his agenda, which is pure total fantasy. But he did say one thing that was absolutely spot on that I think needs not just repeating, but a little bit of extrapolation. Here's what he said.

What are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they're for. I've been saying this for years. Our, our regular viewers here at Ring of Fire have heard me say this. The Republican party has not had a new idea since 1980, when they came up with the horrible idea of trickle down economics and ever since then, that is the only thing on the federal level that they have pushed. That is it. That is their policy. That is their party. That is their platform. That's the only idea they have. Anything happens in this country, the solution according to Republicans is, let's cut taxes. Now, of course there's the voter suppression. Yeah. There is the culture war issues, sure. But on the federal level, the only thing they have done is cut taxes. That's it. That's all they can say. That's all they can do. Biden is right. What do these Republicans stand for? Why should we elect them into office in the first place? What are they doing? That's the talking point, folks, and Biden actually did a really good job. I give credit where credit is due. He did a good job of saying that. And I want him to build on that. I want that to be his messaging going forward. That is what he needs to be saying publicly.

What are these people doing? Why are they even in Congress? What legislation have they introduced that would make your life better? We may not be able to get the things done that we wanna get done, but it's because of these people over here and they've produced nothing that's gonna improve your quality of life one single bit. That's what we need to hear from this administration. That is the message that Democrats to be carrying forward from now to election day of this year. But they won't. They won't. Biden hit on a beautiful topic. Something I absolutely love to talk about, the fact that Republicans stand for nothing and they have no new ideas. They have so few new ideas folks they've announced they're not running on a platform this year. They're not releasing any policy details ahead of a massive midterm election. You know why? Because they don't have any. And the one idea that they have, cutting taxes for the wealthy, is hugely unpopular with the American public. They're not not releasing a platform because they think they can beat Democrats without it. They're not releasing it because it doesn't exist because they have no ideas.
