YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe House Freedom Caucus is planning on elevating the status, via Committee assignments, of both Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert if they win back the House in the midterms. This would be devastating for America, as both of these members have proven that they don't have the capacity to actually get laws passed - and they lack any ambition other than making themselves famous. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

The ultra conservative house freedom caucus has announced plans to try to expand their power, assuming of course, that Republicans take back the House of Representatives in this year's midterm races. And specifically they're going to elevate members like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert into very powerful committees. For example, the intelligence committee, the judiciary committee, any committee that you can think of that actually wield some real power here in the United States, you could see representatives Greene and Boebert, possibly even Cawthorn and Jordan, serving on those committees. In fact, Jim Jordan may end up becoming the chair of the intelligence committee. Matt Gaetz could end up becoming the chair of the judiciary committee.
Basically, if Republicans take back the House in the midterms, it's going to be a complete crap show with the lunatics running the asylum. And that again is not speculation. That is actually their plan. Scott Perry, the head of the freedom cauc, caucus, told CNN that this is what he's going to do. He reminded them that they picked up the freedom caucus, 11 members in the last election. And they're saying, if they can get maybe another five, six, even 10 more members, they're going to flex that muscle and force Kevin McCarthy to take them seriously and of course, give them those powerful committee assignments. So here is why, obviously, that is such a horrible idea. These individuals that I've mentioned, whether it's Greene, Boebert, Gaetz, Cawthorn, doesn't matter. None of them have ever actually done anything real. None of them have done anything that matters.
And most importantly, none of them have done anything that would make your life personally better. In fact, all of them have actively fought against measures that would make your life better. These are not the kinds of people that need to be elevated to positions of power. These are not great legislative minds, okay. We're not dealing with a bunch of, you know, what they used to call Paul Ryan, the policy wonks. No, those days are gone and, by the way, Paul Ryan wasn't that wonky to begin with. He was just your average right wing talking point spewing, idiot. But these people are somehow even worse than that. And they also mentioned in this CNN interview that it's more apt to not just call them the freedom caucus, but the trending caucus because they said that on any given day, you'll see their names trending on social media. You'll turn on the news, they're talking about these people.
These are the headline makers, right? But that doesn't mean they're smart. It doesn't mean they know what they're doing. And it doesn't mean that they're going to enact decent legislation or even take their positions of power seriously. They've made it clear, they're going to use these powers to bully and harass the Democratic party because of some imaginary slight they believe the Democratic party committed against them. That is why they want these positions of power. It's not for any real legislative purpose. It's not even because they've got some ideas they want to kick around. No, it's because they want to make a mockery of the entire US House of Representatives. And the only way they can do that, even worse than they already are, is if they get even more power, which unfortunately is the plan.
