Elizabeth Warren Issues Dire Warning To Democrats About Midterms

Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren is sending out a warning to Democrats: If you don't start delivering, you have no chance of victory in the midterms. She's right, obviously, as Democrats must be able to show the public that they have done SOMETHING to make their lives better in the past two years (by the time the voting happens.) If they can't do that, there's no reason for voters to send them back to Washington. This past Sunday on CNN, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren issued a warning to Democrats in Washington, DC about the midterms. And this is what she had to say. There is so much we can do. And if we do it over the next 200 days, we're gonna be in fine shape. Take it to the people what we've done. I think we're going to be in real trouble if we don't get up and deliver, then I believe the Democrats are going to lose. Democrats win when they work on behalf of working people and we can't just rest on what we've already done, we need to be fighting going forward. And I know a lot of people, myself include for a brief moment, think about what she says. We need to be, you know, what, we can't just rest on what we've already done. A lot of people would say, well, what have you done?

Let's be real for a moment, folks. There may not be a lot of tangibles from what the Democratic party has done in the last, you know, year or 15 months, I guess, whatever it is. Um, president Biden so far at point in his administration has already appointed more federal judges than Trump had by this point in his administration. And we're getting people, we're getting a lot of basically Ketanji Brown Jackson. Like in lower courts throughout the country. We're getting people that come from public defender backgrounds. We're getting people that actually come from plaintiffs law firms, people that made their money taking on those corporations that are killing you. That's a good thing. That's what we've always wanted to see. The caliber of the judges that Biden is putting on the bench is top notch. I'm not gonna lie. And you know, we criticize to hell and back all the people Obama put on the bench.

Biden's not making those mistakes. That's a huge win for progressives and of course, for everybody who likes air and water. Another thing obviously is the infrastructure bill. Is it as big as we wanted? Definitely not. Is it as big is as, as needed? No, it's not. Is it still pretty friggin' massive considering we haven't had any kind of infrastructure investment like that in decades in this country? Yes, it is. Unfortunately takes a while for that money to get spent, right? You gotta go through the budgeting process, state by state. You have to go through the bidding process. You have to go through the planning. You have to go through the prep. You know, just because that thing was passed, what six months ago, doesn't mean they're out there repaving your roads and rebuilding your bridges right now. That's gonna take a lot of time.

So people forget that that happened because there's not immediate results and of course it's not a tangible for them. You know, they don't get to put money in their pockets. So I, I do want to just say, yes, the Democrats have done some things. They haven't done lots of other things. They haven't done the big things. They haven't done the things that they literally promised us they would do. Some of that of course is because of Republican obstruction. We cannot discount that. However, you cannot take it to the voters and say that well, we wanted to give you these good things, but these people were so mean, we didn't get to do it. Voters don't like that. It may be true. It is 100% true folks. But voters don't like to hear that. Voters don't like to hear you go back to them.
