Judge Orders RNC To Hand Their Emails Over To January 6th Committee

A District Judge has ordered the RNC to comply with a demand from the January 6th Committee to turn over their email records relating to fundraising activities based on the lies that the 2020 election was stolen. The ruling is not immediate, and the RNC is going to appeal, but the continued refusal just makes it more and more obvious that they have something to hide. In a decision that was handed out late Sunday evening, a US district judge told the Republican national committee that they cannot hide their emails from the January 6th select committee. Now, the committee had been seeking emails from the Republican national committee, the RNC, related their fundraising efforts. Specifically, they wanted information from Salesforce, which is the group that does the fundraising emails for the Republican party, they wanted to see how much money these Republicans actually raised by spreading Donald Trump's election lies. And the RNC said, nope, we're not gonna show you that info because obviously it's gonna bolster whatever it is you're trying to prove. So we're gonna hide 'em and we're gonna sue you to stop you from getting them. And like I said, Sunday evening, the judge said not gonna happen. You have to turn these emails over. However, there is a caveat, the judge says, I'm not gonna make you do it immediately. I'm gonna leave the door open. You know, you can do this down the road, but I'm gonna give you some time so that you can appeal this decision.

How nice, right? Very nice of the judge to do that. Like, hey, you gotta do this, but hey, take your time, right? We're not in any kind of big hurry here. It's not like the committee put themselves on a summer deadline to get all this information finished and finalized and put into a report, which actually they did, which was a very stupid decision for the committee to make. But the judge basically left the door open for the Republican national committee to continue kicking this can down the road in the hopes of waiting out the committee, because eventually at some point, these people running this committee, by the way, they're gonna have to go back home and they're gonna have to start campaigning for the midterms. Okay. It's a House committee. So except for the handful of people that aren't running for reelection, everybody else has to go back to their districts and be like, hey, remember me? I'm your congressperson. Put me back in DC. So the committees work going to slow down or outright end by the end of summer, just for the simple fact that these people have to campaign. And now the Republican national committee has been given this massive gift.

But the question I have of course, that we won't know until they turn everything over is why even hide it? Right? We know you sent out email with the same lies, the same talking points that Donald Trump was using. Okay. That part's not a mystery. We, we have the emails. We need the data behind them. So why is that a problem for you? Why, why won't you just tell us how much money you raised pushing these election lies? I mean, technically that's not even illegal. So what is the committee's endgame here? Well, in this particular instance, not the entire committee, but I think in this particular instance, it's to show just how much these Republicans benefit from lying to their constituents. How much money the Republican party made by pushing knowingly false narratives and then I think they want to use that amount to embarrass them. That's what I think the endgame is here. And I'm not even opposed to that. Sure. Whatever these people are scumbags, do it. But the committee, not the committee, the RNC clearly has something to hide if they don't want the committee to know how much money they made pushing these election.
