Newsmax Host Thinks Trump Intentionally Botched JD Vance's Name To ‘Hedge His Bets’

This past weekend, Donald Trump referred to a candidate that he endorsed as "JD Mandel," which actually was a combination of the man he endorsed, JD Vance, and his opponent, Josh Mandel. Over at Newsmax, they apparently don't believe that this was an accident, and one host went as far as to claim that this is Trump's way of "hedging his bets" in case Vance loses. Of all the bizarre theories out there about Trump's mental state, this is by far the weirdest, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So something kind of rare happened on Tuesday and that is that Donald Trump's candidate of choice in the Ohio Republican Senate primary JD Vance actually won. Like I said, that's rare. Most of the people Donald Trump has endorsed for office do not win. So, a victory for Donald Trump. And of course they're acting like this is the greatest thing that ever happened. But before Tuesday night's victory, as we all remember on Sunday during a rally in Nebraska for the guy accused of sexually assaulting multiple different women, Donald Trump talked about endorsing JP, no JD Mandel, which of course was the combination of both JD Vance and Josh Mandel, who was Vance's opponent who lost by a lot.

But rather than admitting that Donald Trump had misspoke when he said, JD Mandel, Newsmax host John Bachman came out on Monday and he said, oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Donald Trump didn't misspeak. The man doesn't do that. He said, instead that Trump was quote, hedging his bets by combining the two names. Hedging his bets is the exact phrase that Mr. Bachman over at Newsmax used. And Newsmax, as we know, is a huge Trump supporting network. So Mr. Bachman tried to claim that, oh no, no, no, Trump didn't misspeak. What he did, you know, was he said, JD Mandel. So that way, no matter who wins, if it was Josh Mandel, he could say, no, that's what I had said, obviously. If it's JD Vance, he says, no, that's what I meant, obviously. Hedging is bets, right?

Because he's playing 3D chess while the rest of us are out here throwing checkers. That's a cult, folks. That's what that is. When you can't admit that this individual misspoke, that he said the wrong thing, that he screwed up the guy's name, when you have to come up with excuses for that and try to make it seem like, oh no, he actually screwed up intentionally because he's just so much smarter. His brain is on a level that the rest of us can't even process. Yeah, congratulations, if you do that, you're in a cult. Dear leader can do no wrong. I mean, honestly I'm surprised that JD Vance hasn't already changed his name to JD Mandel at this point. Like, oh no. See, look, I, I, this is my name now. Donald Trump was totally right. I'm JD Mandel from this point forward. He misspoke. He screwed up.

Guess what? Happens to everybody. Hell, even JD Vance came out the next day and said, hey yeah, he misspoke. He says things all the time. Sometimes you get tongue tied. It's okay. Honestly, I do it all the time. I've screwed up multiple times in, in multiple segments. Just today. I'll do it again tomorrow and every other day because that's what happens when you talk for a long time. Also sometimes I get a little sloppy. But I'm not gonna hold it against Donald Trump for screwing up the guy's name. But I'm also not gonna make up some kind of crazy conspiracy theory to make it seem like he's a super genius for screwing it up instead of just somebody who got a little tongue tied, got a little confused while trying to give a speech.
