Newsmax Host Embarrasses Himself Trying To Claim That Trump Isn't Racist

Newsmax host Greg Kelly went out of his way during a segment this week to claim that Donald Trump can't be racist, and he offered one of the most laughable reasons as to why he thinks that. The reason, of course, is that Trump is friends with black people, so clearly he can't be racist. It is the old trope "I can't be racist, I have a black friend!" and Kelly thought that this was a solid argument - and he also apparently thought that it was newsworthy to discuss. You know, what I love about Newsmax as compared to Fox news is the fact that Newsmax doesn't even pretend to be anything less than a pro-Trump propaganda network. On Monday of this week, Newsmax host Greg Kelly, who happens to be their highest rated host, decided to devote a portion of his program to debunking the claims that Donald Trump is a racist and he pulled out one of the most racist tropes that Republicans love to lose, uh, use in order to tell us that Donald Trump himself was in fact not racist. And that trope is Trump. Can't be racist because he's got black friends. So let me read, let me read you this quote from Greg Kelly. And just a reminder, uh, when he was talking about all this images were flashing across the screen of Donald Trump, standing with black people.

So let me read this. You may have heard him say, I am the least racist person you'll ever meet. And it's true. For years, many years, he's had people, friends from all over the place. Here he is with Muhammad Ali and Rosa parks receiving a civil rights award. Now isn't that amazing, right? A guy who was with Rosa parks, they're gonna say is a racist before I continue. Let me tell you, he was standing next to her for a photo op you're like he was with Rosa park. You make it sound like he was on the bus dude. He was definitely not.

Who else has he been with over the years? Before way before he was interested in politics, Jesse Jackson, Al sharped supporting their causes and they supported him next. Michael Jackson, who, by the way, he still speaks fondly of, and the allegations against Michael Jackson, I believe are fake and well, is that Snoop dog? Yes, it is Snoop dog. And of course, Oprah win free, but everywhere Donald Trump win. Do you condemn white supremacy? Do you condemn white nationalism? The question is insulting. It really is as if we wouldn't as if we don't. I don't like the question. So a rich and powerful person has a lot of photographs with either influential or rich and powerful black people. And that's, that's your argument that he's not a racist. He can't be racist. He likes Michael Jackson's music. Dude. Everybody likes Michael Jackson's music. here's what gets me. Not only is the argument just totally brain dead stupid. The question I have is how is this even news? Like who put this segment together for Greg Kelly? Because obviously somebody had to go and scrub the internet, find the pictures. They had to send them over to the graphics

Department. The graphics people had to make them, you know, to where they could be up on screen. The producer had to put this together and help write the script. I don't know if Greg Kelly has any part in that or not. He may just show up there, read what's up there and move on. But there are multiple people involved in this process. I know how TV shows are produced. I've done many of them, myself. So every step of the way people are like, all right, we're going on the air with this. I'm not sure why this is news of the day, but apparently this is what Greg Kelly wanted to talk about. This is full-fledged propaganda folks. This is that. That's what this is like, this isn't debunking anything because you didn't prove any point. You're just like, Hey, look, he's got pictures of black people. You're running interference for him because that's all that network does.And this is embarrassing.
