Two weeks after the Uvalde school shooting, Republicans in Texas moved quickly to try to ban...drag shows? The state believes that these shows are a real danger to children, which completely flies in the face of the REAL danger to children that we saw firsthand just two weeks ago. Republicans will do anything possible to distract Americans from issues that actually effect them, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Two and a half weeks after the U all day, uh, school shooting in the state of Texas Republicans have finally decided that they're gonna do something in the state of Texas to protect children, but not from guns. Of course, absolutely not. They're gonna protect them from drag shows because, you know, we wouldn't want kids to see that for some reason, because I don't know, but Republican representative, state representative Brian Slaton in Texas said this past week that he is going to introduce legislation that will ban children from attending drag shows or any other inappropriate displays. And I have to imagine that's probably actually bad news for Republicans in the state of Texas, right? If you're banning children from seeing any kind of inappropriate displays, then you guys have to go ahead and throw away all of your Joe Biden. T-shirts right. I mean, I would think that's inappropriate. I, I, I would much rather my kids be exposed to drag shows or transgender individuals anywhere, or a gay couple or interracial couple or any of that then to have them have to read, Joe Biden off of some redneck t-shirt in Walmart.

But y'all, didn't really think about that. Did you? No. You just wanted to have a knee-jerk reaction to a couple of pictures that went around the internet, ignoring the fact that Republicans and all kinds of other non Republicans have been sexualizing their children for years, taking them to Hooters. You know, we've seen all those pictures on social media acting like, oh no, this is totally normal. You know, taking our children to this area, to this restaurant that is specifically designed to let men, you know, stare at women that they find attractive. So what are you gonna do about that is Hooter's gonna get caught in this inappropriate displays. Are children gonna be banned from there? You know, are children no longer gonna be able to watch, uh, any kind of underwear commercials for women on TV? Are we gonna have to take down billboards depicting scantily clad individuals and what actually constitutes inappropriate or even sexually suggestive drag Queens, drag performers are not a threat to our children at all. And yet the Republicans in Texas specifically referred to them as CCOs. Now Leighton said my Republican colleagues and I will protect kids from these sickos.

You know, who the real sickos are. The sickos are the ones who take an AR 15 and go shoot up an elementary school. The sickos are the people who don't want to do anything about that after it

Happens, the sickos are the people that would rather distract the public with these nonsensical culture war issues, instead of addressing the real problems, the real threats to our children that they face every day, apparently even at school, those are the sickos. And in my opinion, Mr. Slaton, you are the king of the Texas Republicans sickos.
