Log Cabin Republicans Get Booted From Republican Event…Again

The Log Cabin Republicans were once again denied a booth spot at the recent Texas Republican Convention, marking the 20th year in a row that the group has had their petition for a presence be denied. The group lashed out at the Texas GOP, but they really should be lashing out at themselves. This past weekend, the Texas Republican party held their Texas Republican party convention. And for the 20th year in a row, the log cabin Republicans, the, you know, official group of gay Republicans was denied their petition to have a booth at this convention 20 years in a row, they have been saying, Hey, we want the bare minimum from you. We, we wanna be able to have a booth at your Republican convention we're Republicans. So can we have the booth? And for the 20th time they were told, no, you cannot. So of course you had the, uh, president of the log cabin Republicans, Charles Moran. He came out and he said, it's clear that inclusion wins, which makes the Texas Republican party leadership decision to exclude the Texas log cabin Republicans from their convention, not just narrow minded, but politically shortsighted losers. Don't get to change the course of our nation only winners and inclusion wins. Now here's the thing. The Texas law cabin Republican group, uh, has routinely attacked Democrats, you know, for getting angry about Florida's, don't say gay bill they've repeatedly gone after chasing Buttigieg. Uh, you know, the husband of transportation, secretary Pete Buttigieg, they've basically fought against any effort by the Democrats, you know, to, to reign in or undo or fight against any of the anti L G B LGBTQ legislation being pushed by Republican governors across the country. You know, they say it's oh, you're overreacting. You're overreacting, stop it, calm down. You're engaging in identity politics.

And then they get mad when their identity is used to exclude them from the very Republican party that they fight so hard to defend. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that this group of log cabin Republicans would continue to support the Republican party. I'm not saying y'all need to go and support the Democrats. Okay. It would make sense if you did, but I understand you don't want to do that because I guess you want lower taxes, but you're literally out there defending for fighting for a party that doesn't believe that you should even exist. They don't just hate you as a person. They hate that you even exist and you're still out there going for going to the mat for them. I mean, what is it that is making you vote against your own self? It's not even voting against your own. Self-interest again, this is voting against your own existence. I would love to have a clear answer from these log cabinet Republicans as to why they continue to be with the Republican party. Is it really

Just, you want those tax cuts because let's be honest, the Republican party hasn't done anything other than cut taxes and oppress, uh, LGBTQ people for the last 40 years. So what else is it? Right? It, it has to be one of those two things either. You're a bunch of self-loathing individuals who are somehow feeling you deserve the oppression. Republicans are loving on you, or you're willing to sell out your own existence in favor of tax cuts. It's one of those two things. And I would love for a clear answer as to which one of those it is.
