Sitting Republican Lawmakers Are Now Directly Implicated In Trump's Fake Elector Scheme

Multiple Republican lawmakers were directly implicated in Trump's fake elector scheme by the January 6th Committee during their hearings on Tuesday, including Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson. Johnson had his staff reach out to Mike Pence's staff directly and offered to hand-deliver the fake electors to the then-Vice President. Other members of the House were actively reaching out to state leaders to coordinate other aspects of the scheme, as well. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

More from yesterday's, uh, explosive January 6th, select committee, televised hearings. Uh, one of the big revelations of the day of course, was that Republican Senator, Ron Johnson from the state of Wisconsin actually wanted to hand deliver to Mike Pence, an alternate slate of electors. This of course puts Ron Johnson write smack dab in the middle of that fake electors scheme. And of course he had his aid reach out to Mike Pence's aide who said, Hey, Senator, over, here's got something he wants to hand deliver to Pence on the morning of January 6th and Pence's aid Hodson said no. In fact the exact quote was do not give that to him. So even Pence's aids were like, look, we're not taking part in any of this crap, but of course, this is the first time that Mr. Johnson has been directly implicated in this scheme, which by all measures appears, appears. I'm not saying it is, but I'm saying it definitely appears to be illegal.

Now what's also interesting about this is that we have had other members of the house implicated in these schemes. In fact, just yesterday, we had more people implicated in the scheme from the house of representatives we had, uh, Andy bigs and Jim Jordan who's already been implicated. Now he's implicated even further. But Andy bigs of course, was calling officials in Arizona trying to get them to go forward with an alternate slate of electors Jim Jordan, of course, but Johnson's the first from the Senate. The first from the Senate that we actually have confirmation of being involved with this scheme. You know, it looks a hell of a lot to me like conspiracy conspiracy to defraud the United States of America, conspiracy to Def to defraud, you know, uh, uh, uh, Congress conspiracy against the electoral college vote act. All of these individuals could and should, in my opinion, be brought up on these charges and to make it really easy for prosecutors, go ahead and aim for racketeering. We already know that there were lots of different players doing similar actions across the country. It would be a heck of a lot easier for prosecutors to move forward with racketeering charges, lump them all into one, and then be able to secure a, a solid prosecution off of that. Maybe even go for some of the lower level people, get them to squeal and get even more top dogs implicated in this scheme. But we have sitting members of Congress that tried to subvert

The United States government. And they're still there. They're there right now. They're there today as elected officials in this country and they were actively trying to overthrow the results of the 2020 election folks. It doesn't get much more serious than that. I know there's a lot of other very important issues in this country. I know we've got a lot happening. I know this isn't necessarily something that everybody wants to dwell on every single day, but this is deadly important sitting members of Congress basically tried to overthrow the government.
