Democrats Demand Criminal Charges Against Trump After Latest Hearing

Following the fifth televised hearing of the January 6th Committee, Democrats are now calling for criminal charges to be filed against Donald Trump. The latest hearing focused on Trump's efforts to use the DOJ to undo the results of the 2020 election, and the picture that the Committee was able to paint was more damning than anything that has been released by them so far - and that says a lot. While yesterday's January 6th hearing was taking place. And of course, certainly after it had ended Democrats, including some of those in Congress began to call for criminal charges to immediately be filed against Donald Trump. And for good reason, too, yesterday's hearing focused mainly on Donald Trump's attempts to, uh, coerce the DOJ into claiming the election was fraudulent. And then of course he told them, and then let me and my Republicans take it from here. All you have to do DOJ is just say it was fraudulent. We'll handle the rest. Don't you worry. You're pretty little head about it. And most people of course assume that, you know, to be pretty much evidence of abuse of power. Yeah. That that's a pretty significant crime for a president of the United States to commit there along with so many other potential criminal activities. Now the violation of the electoral vote count act, um, you know, conspiracy against the government fraud, all of that are possible charges that could be filed against Donald Trump.

And of course, like I said, you had Democrats, including some in Congress, immediately calling for criminal charges. We're not even done with this investigation. And they say we already have enough evidence to move forward. And another person who pointed out evidence of likely criminal activity from Donald Trump, former attorney general, Eric Holder. Now, if you're a regular viewer ring a fire, you know why I have absolutely no love whatsoever for Eric Holder, the corporate lawyer, but he made a, a pretty good point here. He said, you know that statement I said about, you know, you guys say it was corrupt. Let me and my Republicans handle the rest holder said, coupled with other testimony, demonstrates both Trump's substantive involvement and corrupt intent requisite, state of mind. He went on to say that all of the lawyers involved should be disbarred as well. So when you have even Eric Holder, the guy that was refusing to prosecute white collar pro criminals, the guy that refused to prosecute all of the people involved in the, uh, opioid scandal, when even he's looking at this and saying, oh, wow, yeah, here, right here, this like, this is the crime.

This is the line. This is what you do now that says a lot, that guy doesn't like to prosecute anybody. And when even he is out there, kind of nudging, Merick Garland saying, Hey, um, here it is, maybe you oughta do something. And of course that's what we always come back to because all of this depends on whether or not Merick Garland is going to actually do his job. I think Merick Garland is still afraid. He's still afraid of being seen as, you know, using his office for political purposes to go after the former president of the United States. But it doesn't matter what you think. It doesn't

Matter how you feel, attorney general, this is your job like it or not. And if you're not willing to do it step down, we'll put somebody up there that is, it's that simple. The evidence of criminal behavior on behalf of the former president is absolutely overwhelming at this point. And we've only had five hearing so far that committee is still sitting on stuff that we don't even know exists right now, but they do. And for us to already be at the point where we could file criminal charges against Donald Trump without the rest of the evidence. I think that speaks volumes one to the work of the committee first and foremost, and tw
