4:12Now PlayingSince the 2020 election, Donald Trump has poured more than one million dollars of donor money into his own businesses. These payments have all been categorized (by Trump) as legitimate, and due to our country's exceptionally lax campaign finance laws, that's likely good enough for our regulatory bodies. Trump once said that he could be the only person to ever make a profit off of being president, and Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why that's one claim that Trump got absolutely correct.

According to a new analysis from Forbes, Donald Trump, since losing the 2020 election has pumped more than 1.3 million worth of donor money into his own businesses. And of course, thanks to our exceptionally lax campaign finance laws here in the United States. This is all totally 100% completely legal. It shouldn't be somebody should be looking over his shoulder to find out what the hell is going on, but nobody is because we just all look the other way as a regulatory body, we look the other way. Let me read this. This is where the money went, uh, between the lost election and the end of 2020 Trump's campaign committee. Donald J. Trump for president handed over $113,000 to Trump enterprises, including two rent payments of $38,000 to Trump tower, commercial LLC, and two, $3,000 checks to Trump restaurants, LLC. In 2021, Trump charged the name of his campaign committee to the make America.
Great again, pack and money. Again, poured into Trump enterprises. Forbes reported close to $38,000 was paid in rent to the Trump tower, commercial LLC every month or so and checks for $3,000 were often paid to his restaurant business from the time of his election loss to the end of February, 2022, the pack had paid $526,000 to his companies per Forbes review of the federal election commission findings Trump's leadership pack. Save America spent $213,000 at Trump properties from February, 2021 until may of 2022. Now in the year 2000, Donald Trump gave an interview to fortune magazine where he said this it's very possible that I could be the first presidential candidate to run and make money on it.
That was in the year 2000 Donald Trump said, yeah, I could probably run and be the only person to ever make money off it. Um, he was 100% correct, because that is exactly what he's doing. He is taking donor money, the money that people are sending into his political action committees. And then they have cleverly found a way to funnel that money back into the Trump properties, which of course, once it goes through that cycle, paying the bills and all that, the bulk of it goes back into Donald Trump's pocket. Like his own personal bank account is where this money ends up. And yet somehow here are the United States. That is totally legal. I think to me, honestly, like that's the disgusting part of this story. I don't care that he's ripping off these idiot little mag juds right. I, I I'm perfectly okay with that. I have come to peace with that. I genuinely believe
That these people deserve to be fleed at this point. Maybe that's heartless of me, but I am sick and tired of giving a about these horrible human beings. They get what they deserve now. So I don't care if each and every one of them goes, bankrupt loses everything they've ever had giving money to Donald Trump. In fact, honestly, I hope that happens. I genuinely want that to happen to these people for what they've done to this country. Now, what does disgust me, however, is that our campaign finance laws allow this, like we have so little oversight, so little regulation that if you're clever enough, actually you don't even have to be that clever. Let's not give Donald Trump that much credit. You can find a way to make a hell of a lot of money off this.
