But a new race is already taking shape, and it is Florida governor Ron DeSantis vs California governor Gavin Newsom. Both men appear to gearing up for something bigger than their current jobs, and they both have track records that their respective parties find more attractive than the current options for both parties. A lot of people obviously assume that the 2024 race is going to once again be between Biden and Donald Trump, right. Basically a repeat of the 20, 20 election, but behind the scenes what's actually happening right now is we basically have a shadow presidential race happening between California, governor Gavin Newsom and Florida, governor Ron DeSantis. Those are the two names that are both starting to emerge as possible. Real contenders for 2024. Obviously DeSantis name has been out there long, uh, much longer than Newsom's has, but new polls show that Newsom actually polls better than vice president Kamala Harris. Now, I don't know if he polls better than Biden right now, but Biden's poll numbers are about as low as you could possibly get. He should not seek a second term. So what's happening. Gavin Newsom is surging. His name is of course being floated out there in the media, national polls, all of that.

So it's out there, but what we could see would actually be quite fascinating if these two men ran against each other, cuz we're talking about two men running two of the biggest states in the country that could not be more different. And to be honest, I, I, I do feel like that would really give Americans a choice because they would have actual examples to look at who do you wanna be? Do you want to be California? Or do you wanna be Florida now? Republicans, of course, they're gonna say, well, hell yeah, I want to be Florida. Democrats are gonna say, well hell yeah, hell yeah, I wanna be California. So we know where the party divide would be on that. But here's the thing when independence actually get to look at the facts, look at how each state has been run over the years by these respective men.

It's a no brainer to pick California. And by the way, this is coming, of course from somebody who's in the state of Florida, Florida under Ron DeSantis has seen our housing prices rise faster than at any other than in any other state in the entire country. We are now one of the most unaffordable states to live in inflation is killing us. We're destroying our own environment with these toxic algae blooms. Ron DeSantis allowed, uh, close to 90,000 of his own constituents to die from COVID because he refused to put any protections in place versus California that did put all these protections in place, you know, had 'em in place a lot longer than most other states. And they did not percentage wise see the same amount of death that we saw here in the state of Florida, obviously by virtue of having tens of millions of more residents, they saw more death, but they didn't ha they had a lower percentage, right?

They had a lower death rate than what we had here in Florida. So again, that's another parallel state of California got a budget surplus over here in Florida. Not so much, not so much, you know, we've cut taxes in the state for businesses. We've banned books, we've banned math books. We've made it legal to run over protestors. If they're in the middle of the street, we've got our abortion ban, of course, that the courts are currently holding up. But we have, uh, we we've had the, the voting restrictions. We've had all these horrible things under Ron DeSantis. This is, you know, ground zero for his culture war, the entire Republican party's culture war. Really California has none of that.
