YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe January 6th Committee held their last televised hearing of the summer last night, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Committee showed never-before-seen footage of both Trump and other Republican lawmakers who showed nothing but incompetence and panic during the attack on the Capitol. This was a great closing argument for the Committee before heading into an August recess, and Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what the impacts of this latest hearings could bring.

So last night was the final for now, at least hearing of the January 6th select committee. And it was supposed to be the last, but the committee decided to keep us going and said that we're gonna be holding more hearings in September. So rather than last night being the actual finale, it was more like a season finale and it certainly didn't disappoint. It painted Donald Trump and his 187 minutes of inaction as a completely incompetent president who also pretty much guilty of dereliction of duty. It showed that there were text messages coming and going to Mark Meadows with people, begging him, everyone from his own children to Fox news host, begging him to do something, to call off the capital attack. And in one of the more disturbing moments we learned that Mike Pence's own secret service detail thought the situation was devolving to the point where they actually called their own families and said their goodbyes. They expected to die at the hands of these Trump supporters. So they called their families and said goodbye by now, if that didn't move you, then I don't know what will. And then of course the video outtakes, right, Donald Trump, the day after the capital riot, putting out his video statement, fumbling, bumbling, being an absolute idiot, but there was actually one part in there that was very telling. And here it is. So take a look at Donald Trump at the really, the only important part of that video that actually matters here. It is.
It is now over Congress has certified the results. I don't wanna say the elections over. I just wanna say Congress has certified the results without saying the elections over. Okay.
But Congress is served. Now. Congress
Is, yeah. Right now Congress is I didn't say over. So let, let me see, don't go to the paragraph before
He did not wanna say that the election is over. Yes. Congress had certified it. You can hear Ivanka's voice coming through saying like, but, but Congress has certified it. Okay. But he's not gonna say that it's over because he still expected his legal challenges to somehow prevail. Even though legally speaking, it couldn't even happen because those results had been certified. It was over Trump lost, but he refused to admit it. Which of course is what led to the whole capital right in the first place. So that doesn't look too good for him. Now there's been a lot of clips of those outtakes floating around social media. People laughing at him saying, haha, look at what an idiot it is. But I will actually say just one thing. Anybody who does this for a living, I guarantee you, they have the same kind of outtakes, right?
We all make those mistakes. I'm not gonna go after him for mispronouncing words. Like he struggled with the word yesterday. I don't care. I struggled with words all the time. So does every single person that does this. If you're focusing on the flus, then you're missing the actual meat of that video. So focus on what's important. Make fun of him in your spare time. The other part of it, of course, another video that did bring Raus laughter to the crowd was Josh Holly, because Josh Holly was the one who we all know. We've all seen the infamous picture, giving that fist of solidarity, showing what a big, tough guy he is. I stand with you rioters. And then he ran away like a little baby.
