5:04Now PlayingRudy Giuliani's luck continues to get worse, as it is now being reported that the Trump lawyer has been informed that he is the target of yet another criminal investigation. In addition to the ongoing investigation into his actions with Ukraine, Giuliani was told that he's a target in the Fulton County, Georgia investigation into election interference, as well. This is the first time that Giuliani has been named as a target, and Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what that could mean for him.

Rudy Giuliani has been informed that he is in fact, a target of the ongoing special grand jury in paneled in Fulton county, Georgia, by Fannie Willis. The da in that area, Giuliani is officially a target in that criminal probe, which of course means that Rudy Giuliani is now the target in two separate criminal probes. The first of course, being the work he did with Ukraine and whether or not he was acting as an unregistered foreign agent, but much like with what happened in Georgia, both of those were because he was trying to make Donald Trump happy. So now he's found himself and embroiled and two criminal investigations, one of which, uh, he's not looking so good. And that is of course, Georgia, as one legal expert explained a former federal prosecutor, by the way, target is a term prosecutors use to indicate that they're likely to indict someone.
It has a specific meaning in this context, if Giuliani has in fact been told that he is a target of the Georgia investigation, he should expect to be indicted. That's pretty serious stuff. Right? However, obviously the word target. Um, we don't know if that came from the prosecutors. We don't know if it came from a judge. We don't know if that's just Rudy. Giuliani's actual interpretation of what they told him. Right? You could be the subject of a criminal investigation. You could be a person of interest in a criminal investigation. So it's difficult to say right off the bat, if that word target one was specifically used by the prosecutors. And two, if that definitely means he's gonna be indicted, I don't know that I buy that by the way. Um, lots of people have been targeted in criminal investigations. That doesn't mean they're about to be indicted.
I know I'm not a former federal prosecutor, like, like the, the man was who's quote, I just, we read. But, uh, I don't know. I don't think that means, oh yeah, indictments are coming. Let's let's temper our expectations just a little bit here, folks. Right? We we've gotten our hopes up way too many times over the last six years. And I think it's best that we approach this rationally. However, I do think it is worth exploring what's happening with Rudy Giuliani. And of course all the others in the state of Georgia. So if Giuliani is in fact now a suspect, I think that's a much better word to use a suspect. Then that means they suspect that Giuliani did something illegal in the state of Georgia. Now we all know about Donald Trump's phone calls. We we've heard them. We've seen the transcripts. And if you haven't heard 'em so Rudy Giuliani of course, was the guy trying to pull all this off. He was on the ground in Georgia. He was also spreading lies and conspiracy theories about them
Pulling out extra boxes of ballots that, oh, nobody had seen these before. And in fact they had, they just put them under the table when they went home the night before. And then the next morning pulled them back out to continue counting. Not, not exactly a conspiracy, more like cleaning up your workstation before you go home. So what was Giuliani doing on the ground in the state of Georgia? Now, we don't know that for certain, but those prosecutors clearly have seen enough evidence at this point to be able to say that we need to go after this guy too. He likely broke some laws here. So let's explore those avenues a little bit more deeply. That's what's happening in the state of Georgia. I do not think it is fair or even okay to say that indictments are imminent for Rudy Giuliani.
