Most Americans Agree That MAGA Movement Is A Threat To Democracy

As Republicans continue to feign outrage over President Biden's anti-MAGA speech last week, a new poll from Reuters shows that a majority of Americans actually agree with him that the MAGA movement is a threat to Democracy. Furthermore, MOST Republicans believe that the MAGA movement does NOT represent the Republican Party. These are great numbers, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

While Republicans are still up in arms, over president Biden's last, uh, uh, speech last week, calling out the mag movement as a threat to democracy, a new poll from Reuters and Ipsos came out this week, which was taken after Biden's speech. And it turns out a majority of Americans actually agree with president Biden that the mega movement is in fact, a threat to democracy from the, uh, new poll from Reuters, 58% of respondents in the two day poll, including one in four Republicans said, Trump's make America great. Again, movement is threatening America's democratic foundations. So 58%, including 25% of Republicans said, oh yeah, what he said is correct. We agree. Like they are a threat to our democratic institutions here in the United States. Um, the poll also found that 59%, you know, just 1% more than the group who says, yeah, he's right. 59% also said, oh yeah, his speech is gonna divide the nation further, which is weird because it kind of seems counterintuitive like, hell yeah, I agree with this guy.

And, uh, boy, that's really gonna divide people. But if, but, but if most people agree with it, then how is it gonna divide people? When he says things that most people are like, yes, that's right. That's how divided and stupid we are as a country. In fact, that speaks more to the stupidity of the fact that he can say something and we can agree with it. And yet we also know that, yep, this is gonna divide us, even though we agree on it, we're all gonna be divided about it because we're just that dumb here in the United States today, the poll also found something else. Very interesting to me, 60% of Republicans don't think Trump's mega movement represents the majority of the party. So majority of Republicans say that the mega movement doesn't represent us. It doesn't represent the Republican party, but you're wrong. You may not want it to represent your party.

And I would love to know how Reuters actually pose that question to these people. Right? I wanna see the phrasing. I want, know what words specifically, they used to get a majority of Republicans to say that we do not believe the mag movement represents our party because that can move mean two things. It can mean like, oh no, no, no, they don't represent our party. Or they do not represent what our party stands for. Right? Those are two almost identical statements. That mean two completely different things. So I need more information from Reuters, which of course they did not provide, unfortunately,

To find out what that 60% actually means. Does that mean that 60% of Republicans want to take their party back from the mag movement or are 60% of Republicans off at the mag movement for hijacking the party or does 60% of Republicans think, oh, mag is not a big thing. It doesn't represent the party. They're just these little freaks over here that we have to deal with. Occasionally, which one is it? We don't know. I need the exact wording. I need the phrasing of that statement to be able to extrapolate all of this data correctly. And unfortunately we do not have it. But the big thing is of course, at the end of the day, most Americans agree. The mega movement is garbage. It's a threat to democracy and I can promise you, that's probably not gonna go very well for Donald Trump. If he ever chooses to run for office again,
