Steve Bannon Begs Republicans To Stop Fighting Each Other Until After Midterms

Steve Bannon doesn't mind starting feuds with his fellow Republicans, but he appears to understand just how damaging those feuds are becoming with midterms just two months away. So Bannon sent out a plea this week to the entire GOP to stop fighting with one another until after the midterms are over. This is, of course, ironic considering that Bannon has been at the forefront of most of the fighting. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why Bannon is now in self-preservation mode.

This week, Republican operative slash podcaster. Steve Bannon issued a plea to his fellow Republicans to just knock it off with one another. And everybody needs to get along. Dang it until of course, after the midterms, then you're free to just do what the hell you want with one another. I don't care, but here is Steve Bannon making his plea to Republicans to please just get along for two more months. Take a look.

Remember, let me repeat the mantra. There is no substitute for victory. All of our squabbling, all of our disagreements, put it to the side. We can start that again. On the evening of November.

Now the irony of course, is that Steve Bannon is one of the people that frequently kind of Stokes this Republican on Republican fighting. You know, he has attacked Mitch McConnell. He has attacked other Republicans. He like Trump will throw around the term rhino. And he is basically kind of the, the, at the forefront of all of this Republican in fighting. And now he's like, guys, guys, you, you gotta chill out. You can't be doing this you can't be fighting. And right before the midterms, and of course there is a very strategic reason why he's coming out with that message right now. And that reason is because Republicans are not doing well in the midterms. You know, they're poised to lose up to three seats in the Senate. They may not even be able to take back the house now. And if they do, they're only gonna have like a five or six seat advantage.

Republicans are struggling and you know, Lindsay Graham coming out this week with a national abortion ban, isn't doing Republicans, any favors, that's gonna hurt them even more the investigations into Trump, hurting Republicans. And so Steve Bannon does understand this. He's not a complete idiot. I mean, he is a good strategist. So he is telling Republicans, we gotta stop being at each other's throats or else we will get walloped in November. And I love how he is. Like, you know, that evening, you know, as soon as you vote, then you can go and fight the Republicans again, like just go at it, head to head, whatever you want, no holds barred, but just make sure we've all voted first. Then after that, I don't care if you kill each other. And he doesn't because he's gonna be one of the people out there attacking his fellow Republicans right after the midterms, he's gonna keep attacking Mitch McConnell, hell.

He may even start attacking Rick Scott for blowing all the Republicans money. But Steve Bannon is a fighter. He starts a lot of the fights and he gets other people to join in as well. So if he really wanted these Republicans to stop fighting each other, he probably should have thought about this several months ago before he started. Most of those fights himself. So now it's a little bit too little too late, right? P you already have Republicans at one another's throats. We have reports of infighting coming out. Every single day. Republicans are in total disarray. You've got Mitch McConnell, warning Republicans, Hey, we've got some whack of dos on the ballot and it's gonna hurt us on those ballots. And then Republicans like Rick Scott saying, how dare you come out and attack our candidates. And then Republicans look back at Rick Scott and say, dude, where the hell's our money. It is a catastrophe.
