YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFormer Trump advisor Peter Navarro was still trying to get the contempt charges against him dismissed when a judge basically had to laugh him out of court over the ridiculous and unfounded claims that he was making. Navarro argued that he was being targeted for prosecution unfairly, and that the prosecution was "political interference." But the judge wasn't having it, and ended up scolding Navarro for being able to back up a single claim that he has made so far. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Former Trump trade advisor. Peter Navarro was recently back in court trying to get a judge to drop the criminal contempt charges against him. Because as Navarro and his legal team attempted to argue in front of the judge, he is the victim of selective prosecution. And this whole thing they said is quote, unlawful political interference. Now this court hearing by the way happened last week, and the judge essentially laughed Navarro and his lawyers out of court, by letting them know that everything they're saying is not only speculative, but that they have offered not a single shred of evidence to back up any of these claims. That is what the judge pointed out. The judge came out and said, listen, you're telling me that you have been selectively prosecuted, that this is some kind of political interference, even though by the way, you don't hold a political office and you're not running for a political office.
So off the bat, the judge is kinda like, I, I don't even see how this is political interference. You're you're not a politician. You hold no position in the federal government. So that's a stupid claim. But more importantly, if you think you're being selectively prosecuted, you've gotta come something more than with something stronger than just your gut feeling that, oh, they just don't like me and they're coming after me. So the judge denied the motion to dismiss and said, Nope, this is going forward. And keep in mind. This is not the first time that Peter Navarro has been smacked down by the courts. He also got smacked down a little bit, uh, uh, a couple months ago, I guess it was after he had been arrested, he goes on TV. And he says they had me in leg irons. I was in solitary confinement. They wouldn't let me call my lawyer.
They didn't feed me. I was basically tortured. He told us and the DOJ had to come out and say, that's not true. The courts then smacked him again and said, you are out there making false accusations against the department of justice that arrested you. And if you continue to do that, we're gonna have some serious legal problems awaiting you. So he kind of backed off those claims that he was, you know, tortured behind bars because they do have evidence that disproves pretty much everything he said. And now he goes to court and says, listen, I know I lied in the past. Right? I know I said all these things that, uh, you told me not to say. And I said, 'em anyway, but Hey, I'm totally the victim here still for these new reasons, the judge just says, no, no, you're not. You're really, really not. What gets me about all of this is that this is how Republicans are gonna operate from this point forward. You know, we've seen it with Donald Trump multiple times. Pretty much every investigation he's been under they go out there and they say, I'm being politically persecuted. I'm
