Former Vice President Mike Pence appeared on Meet The Press on Sunday morning, and he couldn't stop himself from making excuse after excuse for Donald Trump's extreme behavior, including the Capitol Riot. Pence said that Trump had just gotten bad advice from his lawyers on January 6th, and then he went on to say that the DOJ didn't do enough to get the classified documents from Mar-a-Lago before sending in the FBI. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses these pathetic attempts to rewrite history from Mike Pence.

You know, I'm starting to think former Vice President Mike Pence may have a humiliation kink. This past weekend, the man who served underneath Donald Trump appeared on NBC's Meet the Press to promote his forthcoming book, by the way, where he actually, once again, came to Donald Trump's defense on multiple different issues, both the investigation into the documents, and of course, the insurrection itself, where people, Donald Trump's supporters were marching through the halls of Congress chanting Hang Mike Pence. And according to reports, Trump was watching it unfold and said, maybe Mike deserves it. That man who said maybe they ought to kill my vice president

Is still being defended by the man he said should be killed. Here is what Mike Pence had to say. This part is about the document investigation saying the DOJ didn't do enough to try to get the documents before sending the FBI down there. Here he is. I've not hesitated to criticize the president when I think he was wrong. And clearly possessing classified documents in an unprotected area is not proper. But I have to tell you, I was on the Judiciary Committee for 10 years in the House of Representatives. I, I know how the Justice Department works, and there had to be many other ways to resolve those issues and collect those classified documents. They didn't try everything. And I have to tell you, going to the last resort of executing a search warrant against the former president of the United States, I think sent the wrong message. It was a divisive message in this country, Mike Pence, who will never be president of the United States, um, as being intentionally obtuse here, he, he's lying, right? This great evangelical Christian man is lying to our faces because the DOJ working with the, uh, national archives had actually been trying for over a year to get the documents. Over a year is how long they worked to try to get these documents. They gave them every possible opportunity. Trump's lawyers signed legal documents saying, we've given you everything that turned out to be alive, Mike, and you know that

You're supposed to be a man of God. And here you are breaking one of the 10 commandments. Thou shall not bear false witness. You better be wrong about all that, buddy, because that is a hell worthy trespass. You just committed on live tv.

And he continued. Of course, when asked by Chuck Todd, do you think that Trump committed a criminal act and fermenting the insurrection? Do you think a crime was committed? This is what Mike Pence had to say about that question. Well, I don't, I don't know if it is criminal to listen to bad advice from lawyers. I mean, truth is what the president was repeating was what he was hearing from that gaggle of attorneys around it. And, you know, presidents, just like all of us that have served in public life, you have to rely on your team. I hope we can move beyond this. This is really a time when our country ought to be healing

That day. Were his followers, Trump's followers, Mike, walking through the quarters of the House of Representatives in the Senate, chanting hang Mike Pence, Trump watching it on TV saying, maybe Mike deserves it. He wanted you dead and you're defending him.
