Fox Organization CEO Locklin Murdoch is going to appear today behind closed doors for a deposition in the ongoing defamation lawsuit filed against the network by Dominion Voting Systems. That, of course, is a 1.6 billion defamation lawsuit. This past summer. The lawsuit was expanded because previously it did not include Fox News Parent Company, the Fox Corporation, which is Ron, of course, by Locklin and Rupert Murdoch. But a judge agreed that, yeah, you know what, we're gonna have to include all of them. That was the decision this summer. So it was expanded. And so now of course, Locklin has to go and sit and answer very tough questions about why he allowed his network. You're running the show. You allowed this to happen. You may not be involved in obviously the day to day production of the television shows, but after the very first one where they went out and spread all these false claims about Dominion voting systems, you could have stepped in.

And for the record, those are the kinds of questions that he is going to be asked because again, they know that Lochlan is not involved in the production of the individual shows. He's not sitting there sending them topics saying, Hey, cover this story today. Hey, here's what you should say in the script. That's not happening. Locklin cares about the money side of it. Like what are the ads doing? What are the ratings? What is this? What is that? What's this person's contract? But there's no way he didn't know these things were happening on the air after they happened. At which point, of course, he could have stepped in. The actual Fox News CEO could have also stepped in. Nobody did that. They let it go because of course it was good for ratings, which is pretty much the whole basis of a defamation lawsuit. Not only is one of the hurdles you have to pass into defamation lawsuit that the defamation was malicious, right?

They did it intentionally knowing that what they were saying was false. Two, you have to show that the false claims are costing you money, which Dominion says they've lost contracts because of the, uh, lies that have been spread. So there's number two and number three, um, and this is kind of icing on the cake if you already have number one and number two, that's really all you need. But if you can also prove number three, then you've got it made. And number three, of course, is did the other party profit off of the lies that they told about you? So again, those are the questions that Locklin is going to have to answer. What was the ad revenue? How much did your ratings increase? How much did you increase your ad sales after those ratings increased? And he'll have to answer honestly. Obviously, since this is not a criminal trial,

You don't get to plead the fifth. And if you do plead the fifth in a civil trial, it can be used against you in court. Uh, that's how that works, by the way. So those are very tough questions, tough questions that I don't think Locklin is going to be able to answer without, of course, completely destroying the legal defense of Fox News. Now, is Fox News at the end of this going to have to pay 1.6 billion? I doubt it.
