During an appearance on Fox News this past weekend, former Vice President Mike Pence claimed that Donald Trump was truly "remorseful" over the fact that he nearly got Pence killed during the Capitol Riot. There is absolutely no evidence to back up this claim, and Trump has continued to attack "cowardly" Mike Pence to this very day. The real question is who is Pence trying to pander to with this claim? Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

During an appearance on Fox News over this past weekend, former vice president Mike Pence said that, uh, a couple days after the January 6th capital riot, uh, you know, the one where, where the Trump people were marching around the hallways of the capital chanting hang Mike Pence. Um, Pence says that he had a good talk with Donald Trump a couple days after, and he believes truly, genuinely, that Donald Trump was remorseful for what Pence went through that day. Pence and his family here is what Mike had to say. I sensed he was deeply remorseful about what had happened. He immediately asked about Karen and Charlotte who were with me all day and night on January 6th and seventh. In that moment, he seemed genuinely remorseful. Oh, that's nice, right? I mean, you know, your boss almost gets you killed and then is like, Hey, sorry about what happened the other day.

You know, where there's people almost killed you. Wow, I'm my bad, I guess, right? How's your wife doing? Is she she didn't get killed, right? Okay, that's, that's probably good. Um, yeah. First of all, I don't believe it. And second of all, who the hell are you even pandering to? I think that's the bigger question. But let's deal with the first one, right? Like, I don't believe you because there's been multiple reports of people that were inside the White House explaining that Donald Trump was actually cool with the people chanting hang Mike Pence. At one point, Trump actually said, according to the reports, maybe Mike deserves it. So I don't think a couple days later, Donald Trump suddenly got a level head and was like, you know what? That was wrong. That was a little too extreme. Mike. He continues to attack you to this day. Like he hates you.

So there's no way he went from hating you on January 6th, three days later, he's like, oh dude, I'm so sorry. And then he went right back to hating you. That didn't happen, and you were kidding yourself and lying to the public, lying by the way, uh, is a sin. It is specifically mentioned. You can't do that in the 10 Commandments. So as a Christian, you may wanna adjust your story there, otherwise you do go to hell. I mean, those are the rules. They're not mine. I didn't make 'em up, but, you know, you're lying to people and, um, we know where liars end up if you believe that kind of stuff. Secondly, the big question I had, of course, is who is he pandering to? Like, that's what I truly wanna know by going out there and defending Donald Trump who wanted you dead. Who are you trying to appeal to?

Are you trying to appeal to the MAGA people that wanted to kill you? Because I don't think they're gonna vote for you when you ultimately finally announce you're running for president, because we all know you're doing that. So if you're pandering to them, it's a waste of time. If you're pandering to the normal Republicans, right, the ones who do not like Donald Trump at all, you're only gonna turn them off by defending the man who thought you ought to be dead. So again, I ask you, who are you pandering to? Trump's not gonna take you back and make you his running mate again. So if you're trying to make amends with him and get back on that ticket, that ain't gonna happen. All you're doing is making yourself look like an absolutely weak and stupid individual, which honestly is what you are, but you're pandering to people who don't actually exist, and that's probably not gonna get you very far when you eventually announce.
