What are some of your political predictions for 2023? I don't know that you want me making political predictions. I'm the guy, I'm the guy who predicted Donald Trump was gonna drop out after the first presidential debate in 2015, the summer of 2015. Um, and clearly, clearly I was wrong about that. Uh, I also predicted in 2020 that Florida was gonna go blue, thanks to a change in our, our laws. And, uh, yeah, that, that didn't pan out either. So if you want me to make some political predictions, I can, but please know, these are at best total guesses. But I think we can make some safe predictions too. I think a safe prediction is that Republicans are going to investigate a lot of stupid things, and they're not going to find anything. They'll probably come up with, and this is maybe, you know, there's, here's a good prediction for you.
What's gonna happen with these Republican investigations is that you're gonna see little bitty tiny snippets, right? They're gonna find the most minute detail in whatever investigation it is, whether it's Hunter Biden and his laptop, whether it's the withdrawal from Afghanistan or inflation or Covid 19. They're gonna cherry pick like one line out of one thing that they find probably about all of these things they investigate, and they're gonna blow it up into this national story in the conservative media. They're gonna hype it as, oh my God, this is the biggest story of the century. Why are people not talking about this? And then we're gonna look at it and it's gonna be like, oh, well, because you took it outta context and it's actually not a bad thing at all that you're talking about. That I think is a very safe prediction to make. Um, because of course we have seen that, uh, you know, throughout, the Republican party's recent history.
So I think that's a pretty safe one. I think, um, probably starting in spring, we'll begin to see more and more and more Republicans actually formally announce that they're running for president. Uh, we already have so many that are in the, what, what is officially called the testing the waters phase, uh, which basically means I'm gonna go to the Iowa State Fair. I'm gonna travel around New Hampshire and see how I do there. It's stupid. I, I hate Iowa and New Hampshire being first in the country, first and second, actually. Um, but they're gonna start officially announcing, my guess is by spring because the Republican debates, by the way, in 20 for the 2016 election, they started in July of 2015. So if we're on that same schedule, folks we're seven months away from Republican debates. That's, that's pretty crazy to think about. And we've only got one candidate so far. So we will see more people throw their hats into the ring
On the Democratic side. Um, predictions, uh, I, I don't know. I think it's a grab bag at this point. Anything could happen. Nothing could happen. Um, so those are my predictions. I am, uh, I, I, I wish I had more, but I'm leery to issue more predictions, because I don't exactly have the best track record with making super far off predictions. So unfortunately, uh, that's the way it is.
