The truth is that he hid in fear of the subpoena and desperately tried to wait out the clock, which is the only reason the subpoena was dropped - the Committee won't even exist in a few hours! On Thursday, the January 6th Select committee announced that they were gonna go ahead and just get rid of the subpoena that they had issued a long time ago for Donald Trump to come and sit down and have a deposition with the committee after they made this announcement that the subpoena was no more. And I get to more of that as to why in just a moment. But Donald Trump learned about it and apparently was super excited and bragged about defeating the subpoena. Here's what he put on Truth. Social was just advised that the Unselect committee, I'm gonna stop right there before I can even finish that. Trump, you suck at insults. Like you're really, really bad at coming up with mean nicknames. A clever, creative like unselect get it cuz they're select and I call them unselect. No, we get it. It's just really bad for the love of God. Hire a writer to come up with better insults and nicknames for things that you hate because you're really, really bad at it. Was just advised that the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs has withdrawn the subpoena of me concerning the January 6th protest of the Crooked 2020 presidential election. They probably did so because they knew I did nothing wrong or they were about to lose in court. Perhaps the FBI's involvement in rigging the election played into their decision. In any event, the subpoena is dead.

Here's what happened. You see it really at this point in a matter of hours, if you will, the Republicans are gonna control the House of Representatives and the January 6th committee is going to cease to exist. Okay? It's not going to be a thing anymore. It will be past tense. Something that had previously existed but no longer does. It will in effect be extinct. So they kind of had to drop the subpoena because what are they gonna do with it when they don't exist? Who? Who are you gonna show up and testify to if you decided to finally comply with it? Like you didn't win, you ran out the clock and you ran out the clock by hiding and cowering like an idiot at your golf resort down there in South Florida. You weren't brave. You didn't defeat it. You waited for the monster to die of natural causes. And I think that's a really important metaphor to use here. Let's, let's expand that a little bit. Donald Trump is out there boasting about slaying this beast as if he is the knight in the proverbial shining armor with his sword held high. I've done this. I have defeated the evil thing. No

You didn't. The evil thing died of natural causes while waiting for you to come outta your cave. It just died of old age. You didn't defeat anything. You ran and hid like a coward until the beast simply didn't even exist anymore. So you can boast all you want. You can tell yourself whatever you need to to make yourself feel better. But what happened was that you hid from the people that wanted answers because you're just a ridiculous coward.
