4:50Now PlayingHunter Biden has decided to go on the offensive against the conservatives that have attacked him for years over his laptop, and this week his legal team sent letters to state and federal prosecutors urging them to launch investigations into how so many Republicans ended up with the contents of his laptop. His team also sent a letter to Fox News, alerting them to the fact that they might be filing a defamation lawsuit against Tucker Carlson. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why these moves are necessary.

Hunter Biden, the son of course, of President Joe Biden, has decided that he's gonna take a more offensive approach to the, uh, relentless attacks that he has received from the Republicans for about three years now. And this week, hunter Biden had his legal team send notices to prosecutors and investigators, both at the federal level with the Department of Justice, as well as in the state of Delaware, asking them, pleading with them to conduct an investigation into how in the hell. So many right wing figures got their hands on his personal data from that laptop. And I think this is brilliant. I think this is something, by the way, that actually should have happened years ago. Here's what we know. Uh, they've also, by the way, they've listed, uh, one of the people that they want investigated as John, uh, Paul Isaac, I believe, uh, the laptop repair owner.
I, I don't know if you're gonna be able to go after him, per se. And the reason for that is because the laptop was left at the shop for an extended period of time. And I guess there is a policy that customers have to sign off on. Like if you leave it here for, you know, a year, it becomes my property. And that may be true, the data, however, on it that is the personal data of Hunter Biden, that individual would still not have the right to share it, but we don't know if he was the guy that shared it. That's, I guess, why we need an investigation. Um, but in terms of possessing it, he's not in the wrong for the possession of it. However, we do know a bunch of other people who have claimed that they have it, that definitely 100% should not have had it or shared it.
Those people include Matt Gates who entered the contents of the laptop into the congressional record. The investigation needs to find out how in the hell Matt Gates ended up with a copy of it. Like there, there is no conceivable reason why that should have happened. Rudy Giuliani, same thing. He has said he had the contents of it. Tucker Carlson famously said he had the contents of it, and then he, you know, FedExed it, I guess to himself. And then it got lost in the mail. Oh, and by the way, speaking of Tucker Carlson, um, Biden's Lawyers also sent a letter to Fox News, letting them know that they are considering filing a defamation lawsuit against the network. And Tucker Carlson for everything they have said about Hunter. So we are looking at a new situation here. You know, Republicans have relentlessly attacked Hunter Biden. They've said all kinds of horrible things about him. They have shared the information, the private information. So I think investigations are warranted. Just like I have no problem with the investigation into Hunter Biden,
You know, goes both ways. I think both are good. If Hunter Biden did something wrong, let's find out if these Republicans illegally accessed his private data and shared it. Let's figure that out too, because that's also a crime. If that is what happened. And I'm, I'm having a very difficult time looking at what these Republicans did and thinking that that's not a hundred percent illegal. Sharing naked photos of anyone. That's not you, that's not legal. And yet that is what a lot of conservatives did in many states. That is, of course, considered revenge porn. Um, and you can, you can get put away for that for a long time.
