On Tuesday, President Biden was giving a speech where he talked about the Republicans' plans to cut Social Security and Medicare, and he decided to throw in a small joke about Marjorie Taylor Greene. He reminded the crowd how she called him a liar during the State of the Union, and Biden gave an exasperated sigh before making the sign of the cross, at which point the audience went wild with laughter. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

So this week, president Biden traveled to Virginia Beach where he gave a speech talking about affordable healthcare. But at one point he did, of course, kind of start talking about social security in Medicare. And of course the Republicans who wanted to cut those programs that have now been put on their heels after Biden called them out in his State of the Union address. So as he's talking about it, he mentions Marjorie Taylor Green shouting at him. You lie during the State of the Union. And that's when Biden made a small little quip that absolutely sent that audience howling. Here's the clip. Take a look.

What about social security Medicare? Well, are they safe during the State of the Union, as some of you may have seen

I was, I I, I've been around for a lot of state of the unions. I never saw one where the president got to negotiate the open with everybody.

I was pleased to see so many Republicans stand up. Remember when Marjorie Telegram was yelling, liar, liar. Biden's a liar. I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good.

Now that's classic Joe Biden, right? That was a good response. That was a beautiful way to take her down. He didn't have to insult her. He didn't have to come after her and viciously attack. He didn't even have to try to counter her points. Just that little simple sign of the cross like, oh, I'm gonna be good. I'm gonna be good. I'm not gonna say it. Y'all want me to say it, I wanna say it, but I'm not gonna say it. That was brilliant. He knew exactly what he was doing with that too, and the crowd loved it. And honestly, that was an endearing moment. It was a human moment. We haven't seen a whole heck of a lot of that from President Biden ever since he got to the White House. You know, just that raw emotion, gut reaction. Joe Biden, I know Joe Biden's done a lot of things in his past.

You know, as a senator that I wholeheartedly disagree with. He has caused some real damage in this country. But I do believe that he has evolved on a lot of those issues. And I do believe he's not a horrible president. I'm not gonna say he's great, but he's absolutely not horrible. He's not bad. He's just kind of middling. But when he's like that, like he was in that clip, that's when he is at his best. That's when he can connect to people. Because as I said, it was a real human emotion. It was a moment where he connected with that audience where they didn't even have to say the thing, but they were all connected on it and knew exactly what he was talking about. That's brilliant. If we see more of that from President Biden in the next year and a half, of course coupled with legislation to actually benefit people, uh, he could cruise to an easy victory. But we need that Joe Biden. We need the guy that just showed up in Virginia Beach. We need that personality. That was fun. That was entertaining, that was relatable. That guy would be unstoppable in 2024.
