YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe FEC has sent George Santos a warning letting him know that he has accepted ILLEGAL campaign donations. Specifically, the FEC says that Santos has accepted donations that exceed the legal limits and that he needs to fix the problems because they will not be warning him again. But how is he able to "fix" something that already broke the law? Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this bizarre situation.

Well, folks, it looks like George Santos has finally been busted by the Federal Elections Commission for violating the law. No more speculation, no more. Oh, we're just investigating this. They specifically sent a letter to George Santos this week, letting him know that he has broken the law by accepting illegal campaign contributions. Specifically. They say they have identified at least one, but they imply multiple instances where Santos accepted campaign donations in excess of the legal limit. So at this point, you would think, all right, you got 'em great. It's over. Right? Oh, no, no, no. That's not how the FEC works. So instead, instead of saying, we're gonna, we're gonna prosecute you, or we're gonna take enforcement action, they've said, what you need to do, and, and by the way, this is in their letter, what you need to do is you can either just give them the money back, or if it's somebody with a joint account, just put it in the other account holder's name, and then you're totally in compliance and you're good to go.
So anyone thinking that the Federal Elections Commission with their ongoing investigation into George Santo's campaign donations, uh, if you thought they were gonna actually take him down, you're wrong. And I gotta admit, I was one of those people a hundred percent wrong, because here you have this agency whose job it is to identify illegal activity with campaign finance issues. They identified illegal activity with George Santos and just said, ah, don't worry. I'll tell you what, you can just fudge the numbers a little bit. Say it came from this person also on the account. You're good to go. Nobody will know.
I'm, I'm, I'm honest to God, I'm I'm frigging shocked. They're literally telling him like, Hey, listen dude, it's cool you violated the law here, but if you just switched this name over a little bit, you're good to go. Like, now, I think we need an investigation into the F E c. Like, how in the hell can you tell this man? Just put it in somebody else's name. You're good. Like, that also seems illegal, which by the way, isn't that one of the things you're supposed to be investigating, George Santos for the fact that he has campaign donations and the people whose names they're under literally don't exist according to a Mother Jones investigation. You also have one of his own family members who is listed as a donor. Yet when he was reached out, the family member said, yeah, I never gave him anything. That's weird. But how can we trust this organization, the f e c, to actually be investigating him when they're the ones advising him on how to, you know, skirt the law? I've lost all faith. I have lost all faith. Like, not in the fact that George Santos will be brought to justice. I've certainly lost faith in that, but I've lost all faith in, in any of our institutions at this point,
Like who can still have faith in them? It doesn't matter what it is, if it's the F e C, the scc, the fcc, the f fda, the epa, the labor department, the transportation department, everything sucks. And I don't know what else to say about it, but you can't look at the way things are functioning right now between our regulatory agencies and our oversight agencies. You can't look at these groups and tell me, oh yeah, on track, right? No, this is sick, this is disgusting. And the whole system is rotten from the inside out.
