He had been placed on travel restrictions by the prosecution, but he said he had to travel to Washington to meet with his lawyers about his upcoming trial. Instead, he attended CPAC and posted pictures of himself online at the conference, which is how he got busted. An accused Capitol Rioter, who also happens to be an accused member of the Proud Boys, is in hot water with prosecutors after he was caught lying to them about his recent travel. Now the accused is a man by the name of Gabriel Garcia and he had been placed on travel restrictions while he awaits his trial for participating in the events of January 6th, where he filmed himself taunting Nancy Pelosi then, of course, posted the video, so not a lot of guesswork as to whether or not he was there that day. But prosecutors, as he awaits trial, had put a travel restriction upon him. If you want to leave the state of Florida, you have to check with us. Tell us where you're going, why you're going, and we'll approve it or not approve it. So he goes to them recently and says, Hey, I need to leave Florida to go to Washington DC to talk with my lawyers.

So of course, the prosecutor said, well, obviously that is a valid legal reason you may travel, except he didn't go to Washington DC to meet with his lawyers. Instead, he went to the CPAC conference, and prosecutors found this out because the idiot actually posted on social media that he was at cpac. So you lied to prosecutors about why you were traveling, and then you were dumb enough to post it on social media as if these people weren't staking out your posts to find out if you were lying to them. Here's what prosecutors said. In a court filing, the government is surprised by defendant's whereabouts On his recent trip, the government consented to defendants travel out of Florida to Washington, DC for the limited stated purpose of attending trial and meeting with counsel. It appears however, that the exigent circumstance warranting defendant's numerous last minute request to travel to Washington DC on these precise states was for the purpose of attending C P A C DC 23, not watching trial. The issue is not that defendant attended a political event. The real problem is that defendant has repeatedly demonstrated that his representations to the court should be doubted where he purports to need to watch a January 6th trial to make decisions about his own case. In reality, he used watching trial as a pretext for attending an out-of-state conference that featured a panel of January 6th defendants and personally meeting at least one such individual.

And according to the prosecutors, this is also not the first time he lied about his travel now attending C P A, not attending c a, yeah, they probably would not have, uh, given you clearance to do that because again, you're awaiting trial on very, very serious charges here. I'm sure, I'm sure your lawyers are probably sitting at their offices banging their heads against their desks because at this point there is probably nothing they can do for you. When you have exhibited to the court that your own words cannot be trusted, that you are stupid enough to post your lies on social media to get busted, you are screwed.
