Judge Slaps Down Mike Pence's Idiotic Legal Argument To Avoid Testifying To Grand Jury

Mike Pence's ridiculous legal argument for not wanting to testify in front of a grand jury has been slapped down by a federal judge, leaving Pence the option to either appeal the ruling or accept his fate. It is still unclear as to why Pence is even objecting to testifying considering the fact that he is just a witness and not a target in the investigation. Yesterday, a district court judge ruled that Mike Pence, the former vice president, will in fact have to testify in front of Jack Smith's grand jury as part of the ongoing investigation into the attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. However, the judge did not completely throw out all of Mike Pence's idiotic arguments that he was protected by the speech or debate clause. But the judge did make sure that Pence understood what the speech or debate clause actually protected. See, here's what happened. Well, first of all, there were two claims. One was from the uh, Trump legal team saying, there's executive privilege. He can't testify. The judge said, yeah, that's bs. I'm not even gonna entertain that. It's done. As I've always said, there's only one human being that can claim executive privilege. And right now that one human being is President Biden. He didn't claim it.

It doesn't exist. Now, as for the speech or debate clause, Mike Pence had objected to the subpoena that he had been hit with saying that, Hey, I was just doing my job overseeing Congress, and because it was an official Congressional act, I cannot be compelled to testify Speech or debate. Clause protects me. And the judge said, all right, yeah, you know what? Yes, it does protect you. So I am ruling that you do not have to testify about your legislative actions that day. Everything else, however, that was not related to your legislative actions. For example, all the conversations you had with Donald Trump, yeah, you can go in, you're gonna testify about those things. So the judge, probably not as sarcastically as I just explained it, but that is basically what happened. The judge was like, fair enough. You wanna be protected by the speech or debate clause.

I am not gonna make you answer any questions about what you did while you were in the chamber overseeing the certification of the electoral college votes. But everything else you did that day, everything you did in the days leading up to that, and everything that happened in the days after, you're gonna talk about that because that is not protected. And that's where we are right now. It's unclear at this point, although it's pretty obvious at this point, Mike Pence will probably appeal this ruling. It's not exactly what he wanted because for some reason he doesn't want to testify, which as I've always said in this instance, is very odd. Mike Pence is not a target of this investigation. You know, a as horrible as the dude is, this is the one time you literally did nothing wrong. You have nothing to worry about, and you still don't want to talk because I think you think it's going to be detrimental to your future presidential ambitions. But let's be honest, Mike, if you're looking at the polls out there, if you're looking at what the MAGA freaks think of you,

You have no chance of winning a Republican primary, let alone being the candidate. So you have nothing to lose. I know you think you do. I know you think you got a shot at winning that big seat, but you don't. The Republicans hate you. The normal Republicans hate you for enabling Trump for four years. The Trump people hate you for not overturning the election results. You don't have a base, like there's literally no base in the Republican Party for Mike Pence. A lot of sitting Republican lawmakers still like you. Sure, but that's because you're raising tons of money for them. It's not because they're like, no, Pence is a good guy. He's a good friend. No, you're giving them money.
