Trump Loses Another Major Court Case While Being Indicted In New York

The arraignment of Donald Trump in Manhattan might have been the highlight of Trump's legal problems on Tuesday, but it wasn't the only trouble facing the former president. As he was heading to the courthouse, an appellate judge upheld a lower court's ruling that Trump could NOT block his former aides from having to testify in front of a federal grand jury that is investigating Trump. Yesterday, of course, was a big day for Donald Trump, right? 34 counts against him in this massive indictment. Conspiracy seems to be the big one. That's the one that kind of surprised most people, and of course raised the most red flags for the legal experts. But other than that, not a whole lot of surprises, just a lot of possible crimes the former president may have committed. Now, here's the fun part. That's not the only major legal problem that hit Donald Trump on Tuesday as he was on his way to be arraigned a three judge panel in Washington DC ruled that he cannot block his former aids, including former chief of staff Mark Meadows, from testifying in front of a grand jury. The grand jury, of course, is the one that's investigating Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election. And now the man at the heart of it all, Mark Meadows, will have to testify along with, of course, his former aide, Steven Miller, uh, Ken Cuccinelli, John Ratcliffe, Robert O'Brien, John, uh, McGinty, Nick Luna.

So a lot of folks, but here's where this story gets exceptionally interesting. We had already gotten this ruling from a different appeals court last week. Trump, of course, appealed it again. So let me read to you what ended up happening, cuz this is a very weird way that this played itself out. The case was assigned to a three judge panel at the DC Court, uh, circuit Court of Appeals late Monday night with the Justice Department responding just two hours later, shortly after 1:00 AM So this was assigned to a three judge panel at about 11:00 PM Monday night, yesterday morning, little after 1:00 AM the DOJ responds. So I don't know if the DOJ just has like an all night guy sitting there, you know, like, oh crap, we gotta do this right now. Come on, get on the phone. Funny to think about, but apparently they had people pulling an all nighter to respond to this new three judge panel gets even better.

The order from the panel came just a few hours after Trump's team responded Tuesday morning. Both the order and the parties in the case remain under seal. So Trump's team, even though he's getting ready to be arraigned in New York, you know he's sitting there watching Fox News and, uh, posting on truth social about how much he hates Fox News and Bill Barr and Carl Rove, his other legal team is in DC like, oh crap, now we gotta respond to this. So they respond. The three judge panel looks at their response and says, well, this is trash and

Rules that no Donald Trump cannot stop his former aids from testifying in this grand jury investigation. So, while New York may have taken the spotlight, it was not the only massive legal problem facing Donald Trump because as I said, Mark Meadows was the key to all of the attempts to overturn the 2020 election. If he is forced to tell everything he knows, and if they can cut a deal with him so that he doesn't plead the fifth, cuz God knows as the central hub, he's probably gonna wanna plead the fifth because, you know, don't want to incriminate yourself. If they can cut a deal, give Mark Meadows immunity, which I'm not a fan of, but I think in this case I'll be okay with it, and he spills the beans, then what comes out of that grand jury might be far worse for Trump than what came out in New York this week.
