Trump's Lawyers Had To Be Told Not To Incite Violence On First Day Of Assault Trial

Before the assault trial brought against Donald Trump by reporter E. Jean Carroll could even get to jury selection on Tuesday, the judge overseeing the case had to warn Trump's lawyers to NOT incite violence against anyone during the trial. Yesterday was the first day of the assault trial for Donald Trump filed against him in a lawsuit by reporter Eugene Carroll, alleging that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her in a department store bathroom in the 1990s. And from the moment both parties walked into that courtroom, Donald Trump, of course, was not there. He's just not gonna show up for this for some reason, and that's apparently okay. Um, but from the moment Donald Trump's lawyers walked in, things did not go well for them at all. Starting with the fact that the judge, before they even brought in the 48 members of the jury to whittle down, the judge had to remind Trump's lawyers, you are not allowed to incite violence against any of these people. You cannot go out there and publicly attack them. You cannot basically do the things that Donald Trump has done in every other trial that he's been in.

You have to be good. You have to be on your best behavior. Now, technically the judge did issue this morning to both parties, but I really don't think they're gonna have a problem with Eugene Carroll hopping on Twitter and being like this anonymous jury is a farce. Like she's not Donald Trump. She's not going to incite violence against the people. And the judge knows that, but the judge wanted to make it seem fair. So it's like I'm telling both of you do not, do not incite violence against these people. Um, that's not a good start When you walk into that courtroom before you even have jury selection and the judge is already having to basically preemptively discipline you, oh boy, you have already lost so much ground in that particular case. I mean, the potential jurors do get to hear that too. Like they know that you just got warned against threatening their lives.

So best of luck to you on this one, Donald. Um, I I, I, I can't say that you being present in that courtroom would actually help you. So probably you not showing up for this. I know you got a rally over in New Hampshire tomorrow. That's probably the best thing for you because your presence, having that jury actually see you, but you can't see them cuz they're anonymous. That's not gonna work in your favor at all. Donald Trump's lawyer, Joe Taino, by the way, also got smacked down by the judge for trying to say that Eugene Carroll talked to George Conway recently and the judge was like, dude, just shut, shut up. Not exactly what the judge said, but that's pretty much the sentiment there. Like, just go like, off. Um, this is gonna be a fun case to watch, not just because of the implications of what it could prove about who Donald Trump is, but also because this judge has clearly already had enough of Donald Trump and his legal team. And we're gonna see a lot of fireworks as this thing goes on.
