According to former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, Tucker Carlson made a deal with Kevin McCarthy for McCarthy to finally gain the necessary support to become Speaker of the House this year. Carlson had two demands for McCarthy, and, according to reports, if McCarthy went along with those demands then Tucker would broker a negotiation live on the air between the holdouts preventing Kevin from becoming Speaker. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what happened.

According to former Fox News producer Abby Grossberg, Tucker Carlson made a secret deal with Kevin McCarthy to get McCarthy the votes necessary to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives earlier this year. Now, Grossberg is of course suing Fox News for the hostile work environment, uh, according to her making her lie during the depositions of the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit. So she's suing them. She's got a ton of information, and she came out this week and dropped the bomb on us all when she announced that Tucker Carlson through her had been working with Kevin McCarthy to broker a deal that would involve concessions on McCarthy's part that included releasing all the January 6th footage to him, of course, and putting Republican Thomas Massey on the weaponization committee that Republicans were about to start. Both of those things did happen. So what was supposed to happen was that Tucker Carlson was going to bring on Matt Gates and Kevin McCarthy and live on the air, on Fox News.

Tucker was gonna work out this deal that had already been worked out behind the scenes. So the whole thing basically was going to be staged. He knew that McCarthy already had made these concessions. He just wanted to get it on the air and make it seem like he, Tucker Carlson is the great king maker of the United States. Kevin McCarthy, for whatever reason, decided again, even after giving the the um, uh, uh, uh, demands Met, decided not to do it, he decided not to go on Tucker Carlson's show. Matt Gates did go on there and they talked about these things, and Tucker Cook put a big Chiron on the bottom of the screen that mass appointed to weaponization committee. So they already knew these things were gonna happen, and I'm willing to bet Matt Gates knew that McCarthy had already made these concessions as well. But the fact that Tucker wanted it done on his show that he wanted to be seen as the broker, you can't even call Fox News a network anymore.

It is a campaign and propaganda arm of the Republican Party, and I know there's plenty of people that have been saying that for decades, but it truly is like that is what happened here. Can you imagine how right wing media would be reacting right now if it was revealed that Jake Tapper had worked out a deal with Nancy Pelosi to become Speaker of the House? How would the press be reacting if Rachel Maddow had behind the scenes, made her producer work out and get concessions from the person trying to be speaker of the house? Right Wing media would be calling for their

Heads on a silver platter. Yet here we are. This story has actually now been out for like three days. And conservative, conservative media's just silent like they don't even care. Most of the media's just silent about this, like, whatever. Not a big deal. It is a big deal. You cannot separate the Republican party from Fox News at this point. They are one and the same. They are a singularity at this point. And as such, Fox News should be regulated as a political party instead of as a news network. News networks have a hell of a lot more protection under the law than a political party does, and that's why these stories are important because Fox News operates under those rules and laws for the media strong protection from the First Amendment of the United States.
