DeSantis Whines That Trump Is Using 'Democrat Attacks' By Accurately Describing His Horrible Record

Ron DeSantis is absolutely livid that Donald Trump is using his past record of voting for cuts to Social Security and Medicare against him, and DeSantis lobbed the only attack he could think of to retaliate, saying that Trump is acting like a Democrat. That's not the impressive zinger that DeSantis thinks it is, and launching "Democrat attacks" means telling the truth, then that says more about Republicans than it does Democrats. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has admitted that telling the truth is a tactic only used by Democrats. Now that may not have been the point he was trying to make, but it is the point he accidentally made. Here's what's happening. Donald Trump, of course, has spent a very long time recently, uh, attacking Ron DeSantis for his past support of cutting social security and Medicaid for American seniors. In his time in the United States House of Representatives. Ron DeSantis, of course, did support legislation that would've done exactly that. It would've cut benefits, it would've raised the retirement age. It basically would've screwed over entire generations. Actually, pretty much everybody in the United States that plans on growing old someday. And that of course has become a flashpoint for Democrats to attack Republicans because it's absolutely true and Trump's been using it to attack DeSantis. And DeSantis recently got so off that he said this, those are Democrat attacks. I don't think anyone really buys that. He said on Newsmax, Donald Trump himself wrote a book where he was talking about the need to increase the age of eligibility for social security to 70.

That's also true by the way. Donald Trump was supportive of the same policies and plans that he is now attacking Ron DeSantis for supporting they supported the same bills. So it is the pot calling the kettle black. But again, the underlying issue here is that DeSantis says those are Democrat attacks. Why? Because they're factually accurate. Because it's the God's honest truth. And you can actually go back and, and read and see for yourself the evidence that proves that this is not a lie that suddenly makes it a Democrat thing. I mean, okay, even still, is that the best defense you have? Like how dare he say this? He sounds like a Democrat. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty of red butter, uh, blooded Republican Americans who think that sounding like a Democrat is about the worst thing on the planet, but all you're really doing, Ron is admitting that. How dare he tell the truth? You're starting to sound like a Democrat. Why don't you act like a Republican and lie every now and then? Is that what you want? I mean, cuz that, that to me sounds like what you're saying. DeSantis then actually went on to say that clearly nobody has ever proposed doing anything to affect the current senior citizens.

So, so you are admitting that you are gonna screw over senior citizens, just not the people that are senior citizens right now. You wanna screw over the people who are gonna be senior citizens in the near future and beyond. Like those are the people you wanna screw. Like I don't wanna screw with the people that are senior

Citizens now, but if you're not already age 65, then. Yeah, I'm gonna get you bad. Right? That's what you're saying, Ron. Also, not to mention the fact that that's also not true because Rick Scott's legislation and his proposal that he put forth earlier this year absolutely would've screwed over current senior citizens, you know, sunsetting social security and Medicare every five years and having to re-vote for it would affect people currently receiving benefits.
