George Santos Lies Again And Claims He's The Victim Of A Witch Hunt

Even after he was arrested for, among other things, making false statements, George Santos decided to continue lying by saying that he is the victim of a "witch hunt." The embattled Republican Congressman is borrowing a page out of the Trump playbook, but he clearly hasn't been paying attention to how badly that playbook has been working for Donald Trump. Even after George Santos was indicted this week for among many other things, making false statements, he decided that his best course of action after being indicted for making false statements was to come out to the press and make a false statement. Now, while him lying to the press is certainly not something that is a criminal activity, it is a little bit, well, totally expected, but definitely ironic that you would just be indicted for making false statements and then turn right around and make a false statement. George Santo said this, it's a witch hunt. I'm going to fight my battle. I'm gonna deliver, I'm gonna fight the witch hunt. I'm gonna take care of clearing my name.

It's not a witch hunt. You liar. And for the record, I also would like to know, which name are you trying to clear? George Santos, Anthony DeVol, George DeVol Santos, Anthony Santos, Anthony Daalder, George Daalder, Anthony Santos, Katara, which name George, if we can even call you that. Which name are you trying to clear? You need to be a little bit more specific as you have gone by many aliases in your lifetime. But it's not a witch hunt man. They got you. They got you on the goods. Not just the making false statements. Honestly, that's like the, the most minor of the charges they got you on embellished, embezzlement. Excuse me, they got you on money laundering. Multiple counts of each of those. By the way, the evidence is right there, clear as day. Now, as I said when this initially happened, when you're looking at charging a sitting member of the United States House of Representatives, even if it's somebody who is genuinely hated pretty much by both parties at this point, you still understand as the charging body that what you're about to do is something that does not happen very often here in the United States.

And therefore, if you're gonna go to the point where you're gonna bring charges, you've gotta be sure that there is little chance you could end up with not getting a conviction. Basically what I'm saying is they wouldn't have brought these charges, even though Santos is universally despised. If they weren't confident they had an airtight case because they know how politically toxic it can be going after a sitting politician, whether it's a Democrat or a Republican. Hell, they actually tried that a couple years ago with the Democrat. My apologies name escapes me. I was reading about it earlier today. Uh, but the charges end up being dismissed and they look like fools. That Democrat, of course now, um, is the, uh, uh, minority leader on a house committee. Um, again, I'm so sorry. The

Um, but then they also had the Republican fortenberry who ended up having to resign because the charges became overwhelming, so they know what they're doing. These charging bodies are not just gonna embark on a witch hunt and just say, ah, let's throw stuff out there, see if it sticks. No, they know that by bringing these charges, they are stepping into politically toxic waters no matter who it is, no matter what the charges are. And they are not gonna step into those waters unless they are certain that they can safely navigate to the other side. So this is not a witch hunt, George. This is your future where you are now facing up to 20 years in jail based on this one indictment alone.
