Here's a bit of unsettling news folks. On Sunday while speaking to reporters in Delaware, president Biden suggested that he might be open to increasing the work requirements for SNAP beneficiaries. In other words, he is not opposed to the idea of putting on stricter work requirements for people on food stamps. And as we know, the republican com, uh, proposals that are basically, uh, uh, being pushed by Matt Gates, it would kick 10 million people off of food stamps. And that includes 3 million children who would no longer know if they were gonna have a meal that day. And President Biden suggested that he might be okay with that. Here is what he told reporters. I voted for tougher aid programs. That's in the law now, but for Medicaid, it's a different story. And, and so I'm waiting to hear what their exact proposal is. Yeah, talking about Republicans in the debt ceiling negotiations that once again resumed yesterday.

So he's already talked about the fact here that like, listen, I already put some work requirements on the food stamp programs. Uh, so we'll see what they've got proposed now. But, uh, for Medicaid, that's a no-go. So only for Medicaid is he completely ruling out increasing the work requirements for that program. So I, I, I guess that's a silver lining. Now, you may be watching this thinking Faren, he didn't say he is going to be in favor of increasing the work requirements for the SNAP program. That is true. He did not say that, but he also didn't rule it out, but he did take the time to rule out work requirements for Medicaid. So he knows exactly what he's saying and he knows how he is saying it. You can't rule out one part, but not address the other part that Republicans are pushing. If you're gonna rule anything out, you gotta rule all of it out. So yeah, that's where we're at. Now, this doesn't mean that Biden is definitely gonna get on board with any idea, any policy to increase the work requirements for SNAP beneficiaries, but he could be open to it. And this is the part, just like during the Obama administration where when we learn that they might do something, we have to get off. We have to say something. We have to get this message out there and create that public pressure to prevent him from doing these things. That's

What has to happen right now. Don't sit there and think, oh, well, I'll be optimistic. He's probably not gonna do it. If you get complacent and if you let him off the hook before anything happens, it will happen. But if you get mad, you can get on social media. You can spread the word. You can call him out, tag him on Twitter, make this a national story to the point where Biden cannot escape it and he cannot tacitly approve a Republican plan that he thinks nobody's paying attention to.
