YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRepublican Senator Ted Cruz is trying to capitalize on culture war nonsense by announcing an investigation into Bud Light's marketing practices after they did a one-off promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. This is an absolute abuse of power over a non-issue, but Cruz has his eyes on a bigger office someday so he is going to continue to embrace the stupid so that he can eventually win on the national stage. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Ted Cruz has announced that he is wanting to launch an investigation into Bud Light over their promotion that they did a one-off promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Ted Cruz has sent a letter along with Republican Senator Marshall Blackburn to Bud Light demanding that they immediately apologize for this little stunt they pulled over a month ago because Ted Cruz is still, for some reason unhappy about it, like the rest of the Republican Party has already moved on to the next outrage of the day. But Ted Cruz is still harping on the Bud Light thing a little bit, uh, uh, too late after the fact. But here is what Cruz and Blackburn said in their letter to Bud Light. We would urge you in your capacity at Anheuser-Busch to avoid a lengthy investigation by the Beer Institute. By instead having Anheuser-Busch publicly sever its relationship with Dylan Mulvaney publicly apologized to the American people for marketing alcoholic beverages to minors and direct Dylan Mulvaney to remove any Anheuser-Busch content from his social media platforms. And of course, they're calling Dylan Mulvaney, his platforms instead of her platforms because hey, why not be a for no reason? Right? They continue, um, they, they focus their complaint on the title of Moi's TikTok series, days of Girlhood. Uh, so then they continue, it says the use of the phrase Girlhood was not a slip of the tongue, but rather emblematic of a series of Moi's online content that was specifically used to target market two and attract an audience of young people who are all well below the legal drinking age in the United States.
So your beef allegedly is, is not because it's a transgender influencer, right? You don't care about that. Um, it's because this was allegedly somehow marketed towards children. Now that's really funny because I don't remember either of you speaking out when Jewel, uh, was just popped for millions and millions and millions of dollars for marketing their products to children. I don't remember Republicans speaking out when the tobacco industry was marketing to children. Like y'all never cared about any of that stuff at all. But now suddenly you're so worried about the kids that you can't have this influencer from social media promoting a beer on a channel that is not necessarily designed for kids just because she puts out a series that that may talk to kids. That doesn't mean, look, I found out recently, I have kids in elementary school that watch Ring a Fire, and I love it, but I'm not creating content for children.
So that's not the same thing. If you were talking about beer commercials being run on the Disney Channel, then yeah, maybe that's an issue. But you do realize that children watch other programs as well. I mean, you can be watching r uh, reruns of the Big Bang Theory and you're gonna see beer commercials. You could be watching a sports game. Kids love sports and they're gonna show you lots of beer commercials. Ted, you're gonna investigate those people too. No, you're not. Because this isn't actually about marketing to children. This is your attempt to punish a company for doing a tiny little one-off promotion with a transgender influencer who nobody would've even noticed if your party hadn't freaked the F out about it. Right? Like that's what's happening here. The only reason there's a backlash is because y'all created a backlash. The smart thing for y'all to have done would've been to just totally ignore it.
